    摘要: A wireless telephone comprising a receiver to receive a DTMF (dual tone multi-frequency) audio tone transmitted to the wireless telephone during a conversation mode of the wireless telephone, and a DTMF decoder coupled to the receiver to decode the DTMF audio tone and to responsively generate a decoded signal representing dialed information corresponding to the DTMF audio tone during the conversation mode of the wireless telephone. A wireline telephone may also include a DTMF decoder and a memory to decode and store received DTMF digits. A telephone embodying the present invention thus captures for its user the telephone numbers or other numerical information transmitted by the opposite party in the DTMF form during a conversation, without requiring the user to disrupt the conversation, e.g., by looking for a paper and pen. Thus, the user may not need to personally remember or write down the telephone number or other numerical information received while the user is on phone.

    摘要: A telematics method and system includes, and uses, a telematics device with a controller in communication with a diagnostic system configured to receive diagnostic information from a host vehicle; a position-locating system configured to determine location information of the host vehicle; a wireless transceiver configured to transmit and receive information through a wireless network to and from at least one Internet-accessible website; and, a communication interface including at least a short range wireless interface link. The telematics device may be embodied in an access device, which may include the position-locating system. The access device may be a smartphone, or similar device, that retrieves/transmits diagnostic data/information, and other data/information to/from the vehicle via the short range wireless link. The access device performs various telematics device functions; it uses a long range wireless interface to communicate diagnostic and related information to a central host computer, and to receive related information from same.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus for secure over-the-air (OTA) programming, and particularly, activation, of a wireless unit in a particular communications system. The unit stores a stored key having been generated by using a key algorithm (K-algorithm) with an identifier associated with the unit as an input to the K-algorithm. The unit may receive information such as parameters and a verification number from a communications system for the purpose of programming the unit. The verification number is generated by using an authorization algorithm (A-algorithm) having the parameters and a key as A-algorithm inputs. They key is generated by the K-algorithm having the identifier associated with the K-algorithm input. In response to the receipt of the parameters and the verification number, the wireless unit generates a trial verification number by using the A-algorithm with the parameters and the stored key as trial inputs. The unit compares the verification number to the trial verification number for a match. When finding the match, the unit uses the parameters for programming of the unit in the particular communications system. When failing to find the match, the unit fails to use the parameters for the programming.

    摘要: A wireless mobile device (“UE”) operating in a battery-conserving low-power state processes incoming signaling or data in a received message to determine whether to act further on information in the message by enabling additional processing capability in the UE. A server may generate awaken information derived from a stored secret value that only the UE device and a server that manages the UE can obtain. The awaken information may also be based on a shared value shared between the server and the UE. The UE may separately derive the awaken information and may exit a low power state when awaken information received from the server in an awaken message in a first protocol matches the separately derived awaken information. The server may transmit a fall-back second awaken message in a different protocol than the first protocol if no confirmation is received that the UE received the first awaken message.

    摘要: A system and method for determining an SMS retransmission schedule is provided. When a special error code is received by an SMSC, the SMSC can calculate the response time. The response time is the time that lapsed between forwarding the SMS message for delivery and receiving an error code. If the response time exceeds a response time threshold, the error code can be considered as falsely generated. A special retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message. If the response time does not exceed a response time threshold, a different retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message.
