With respect to one pair of the differential data, gray scale level data corresponding to one pixel are arranged in an ascending order or a descending order. With respect to another pair of the differential data, the sign data corresponding to one pixel are arranged into a former half or a latter half of a time period corresponding to one pixel. Data of a highest order bit of the difference absolute value data corresponding to one pixel are arranged into the latter half or the former half of the time period corresponding to one pixel.

    摘要: A liquid crystal displaying method includes: multiplying, a difference value of luminance information and a difference value of color-difference information each by an emphasis coefficient α (α is a positive real number); adding the luminance information in which the input image information has been delayed for one frame period and the color-difference information in which the input image information has been delayed for one frame period to the difference value of the luminance information multiplied by the emphasis coefficient α and the difference value of the color-difference information multiplied by the emphasis coefficient α, respectively, to obtain emphasized image information. The difference value of the luminance information is the luminance information of the input image information having the luminance information and the color-difference information subtracted from the luminance information in which the input image information has been delayed for one frame period. The difference value of the color-difference information is the color-difference information of the input image information subtracted from the color-difference information in which the input image information has been delayed for one frame period.

The scale down unit generates a scaled down image by scaling down a target image. The scaled down image has a size smaller than the target image. The calculation unit calculates a pixel value of a diffuse reflection component of each pixel in the scaled down image, and generates a first diffuse reflection image having the pixel value and the same size as the scaled down image. The scale up unit generates a second diffuse reflection image by scaling up the first diffuse reflection image. The second diffuse reflection image has the same size as the target image. The subtraction unit generates a specular reflection image by subtracting the second diffuse reflection image from the target image.

    摘要: An image display apparatus for displaying images based on signals of an input image is provided. A backlight emits light. A liquid crystal panel modulates light emitted from the backlight. A emission intensity calculating unit calculates an emission intensity of the backlight such that a center value of a lightness range displayable on the panel defined depending on the emission intensity of the backlight substantially agrees with a center value between maximum and minimum values of lightness of each signal of the input image. A backlight controlling unit controls light emission of the backlight such that the light is emitted with the emission intensity. A signal correcting unit corrects each signal of the input image in accordance with the emission intensity. A liquid crystal controlling unit controls modulation of the liquid crystal panel based upon the corrected signals.
