    Abstract: A paging message transmission method and apparatus are described. The method can include sending, by an access network device, a first paging message to a terminal device on a first paging occasion, where the first paging message comprises a first identifier and a preset time point for sending a second paging message, the first identifier indicates the first paging message is a short message, and the second paging message is a message for terminal paging. The method can also include sending, by the access network device to the terminal device at the preset time point, scheduling information corresponding to the second paging message, and sending the second paging message on a time-frequency resource corresponding to the scheduling information.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an uplink data transmission confirmation apparatus, device, and method. The apparatus includes the following. A transceiver module, configured to send uplink data to a base station; a detection module, configured to detect, within a first preset period, whether first physical downlink control channel signaling sent by the base station is received, and obtain a detection result; and a judging module, configured to determine, according to the detection result, whether the uplink data is successfully transmitted. According to the apparatus provided in embodiments of the present disclosure, physical downlink control channel signaling is reduced in a process of confirming, by the terminal in a coverage enhancement scenario, whether the uplink data is successfully transmitted; and whether an Msg3 is successfully transmitted can be confirmed.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a memory comprising instructions and a processor in communications with the memory. The processor is configured to execute the instructions to determine a reference signal received power of user equipment (UE). In response to determining that the reference signal received power is less than or equal to a threshold, it is determined that the UE supports sending a physical random access channel, receiving a random access response message, sending a random access response acknowledgment message, and receiving a contention resolution message. In response to determining that the reference signal received power is above the threshold, it is determined that the UE supports sending the physical random access channel, and receiving the contention resolution message, and it is determined that the UE does not support sending the random access response acknowledgment message and receiving the random access response message.
