    Abstract: A thermal management includes an inductor, a housing in thermal communication with the inductor, the housing defining a wall, and a conductor. The conductor has a greater heat transfer rate than the wall and is positioned within a groove and/or an aperture formed in the wall. The conductor is configured to transfer heat through the wall more efficiently than if the conductor were not present. A method of manufacturing a thermal management system includes forming a housing by additive manufacturing. The housing defines a wall having at least one of a groove and an aperture defined therein. The method includes positioning a conductor in at least one of the groove and the aperture. The conductor has a greater heat transfer rate than the wall. The method includes positioning an inductor into thermal communication with the housing.

    Abstract: A power electronics cooling system includes a ram air fan with one or more blades and a ram air fan motor connected via an output shaft. The ram air fan draws in air and passes it across a heat exchanger to cool one or more cooling liquids. One or more pumps pressurize and pump the cooling liquids to various electronic components, including one or more motor controllers. The pumps may be mechanically or electrically coupled to the output shaft of the ram air fan, such that the motor of the ram air fan provides energy to the pumps.

A generator is fluidically connected by a coolant path to the coolant passage wherein the generator is located in a second portion of the aircraft, with at least a portion of the coolant path is located within a cooling location having a lower average temperature than either the first portion or the second portion of the aircraft.

The at least one winding and the core are mounted to the housing with potting material. At least a portion of a fluid circuit is defined within at least one wall of the housing.     Abstract: A phase leg for an inverter includes a switching module having a switch device, a power lead connected to the switching module and in electrical communication with the switch device, and a drive lead. The drive lead is connected to the switching module, is in electrical communication with the switch device, and is segregated from the power lead to limit heating of a drive module connected to the drive lead from current flowing through the power lead. Multilevel inverters and methods of making phase legs for inverters are also described.
