摘要: Directivity of light beams can be adjusted appropriately relative to the normal to the light emission surface of a light source. Thus, the light source apparatus has high brightness without significant unevenness in illumination with its simple structure. The light source apparatus comprises a light source substrate on which plural light sources are arranged, a secondary light source member on which a secondary light source surface is formed when it receives light from the plural light sources, and frame that supports the light source substrate and the secondary light source member from their lateral sides so that they are opposed to each other. At least a pair of side surfaces of the frame has reflection surfaces opposed along the arrangement direction of the plural light sources, and the reflection surfaces that the pair of side surfaces has are inclined to the same direction relative to the light source substrate.

摘要: An image display apparatus having a compact size and appropriately achieving a larger field angle is disclosed while it has two optical systems guiding light from a single image forming device to both eyes. The apparatus has the single image forming device forming an original image, and a first and a second optical system disposed on both sides of a central plane including a central axis of the image forming device. The optical systems guide light from the image forming device to a first and a second eye of an observer, respectively. When light traveling from the image forming device to each pupil of the optical systems is inversely traced from the pupil, each system includes a first surface reflecting the inversely traced light from the pupil in a direction away from the central plane, and a second surface reflecting the inversely traced light from the first surface in a direction away from the central plane.

摘要: The present invention has as its object to provide an optical system which can generally be easily made compact and light in weight and wide in angle of field when image information displayed on a display unit such as a liquid crystal display is observed, and an image displaying apparatus using the same. To achieve this object, the optical system according to the present invention is an optical system for directing a beam from the display unit to a predetermined position to thereby enable an observer to observe image information on the display unit, and when a ray emerging from the center of the display surface of the display unit and passing through the center of the exit pupil of the optical system is defined as a central field angle principal ray, the optical system has a first optical element having on the same member a plurality of eccentric reflecting surfaces eccentric relative to the central field angle principal ray and having power, and an eccentric mirror system comprising at least one eccentric mirror eccentric relative to the central field angle principal ray and having power, and directs the beam from the display unit to the first optical element through the intermediary of the eccentric mirror system and directs the beam emerging from the first optical element to the predetermined position.

摘要: A display driver instructed by a host computer to perform a display operation uses an object analyzer to determine whether the file of an object to be displayed possesses three-dimensional image data. If the file possesses three-dimensional image data, then the display drive instructs a screen controller to present a three-dimensional display. In response, the screen controller uses an image painting unit and a checkered mask-pattern painting unit to present a three-dimensional display in a display area of the file on a stereoscopic display screen.

摘要: The image display apparatus includes an observation optical system including first and second optical elements which respectively introducing first and second light fluxes from first and second image-forming elements to first and second exit pupils, and a relay optical system. The relay optical system causes third and fourth light fluxes from the second and first image-forming elements to form intermediate images and introducing them to the first and second optical elements. The observation optical system displays images corresponding to the first and second original images in mutually different viewing angle areas by introducing the first and third light fluxes to the first exit pupil through the first optical element, and displays images corresponding to the second and first original images in mutually different viewing angle areas by introducing the second and fourth light fluxes to the second exit pupil through the second optical element.

摘要: The image display apparatus forms first and second images in mutually different viewing angle areas to display a combined (joined) image. The apparatus includes first and second image-forming elements respectively forming first and second original images, a first optical system reflecting a first light flux from the first image-forming element at least twice to introduce the first light flux to an exit pupil, and a second optical system reflecting a second light flux from the second image-forming element at least twice to introduce the second light flux to the first optical system. The first optical system introduces the first light flux and the second light flux from the second optical system to the exit pupil such that the first and second images respectively corresponding to the first and second original images are formed in the mutually different viewing angle areas in a first cross section.

摘要: The image display apparatus includes first and second display elements displaying partial images of a single image, and first and second optical elements each having first, second, and third surfaces. The first and second optical elements respectively allow light fluxes from the first and second display elements to enter the first and second optical elements through the first surface, and then respectively causing the light fluxes to be reflected by the second and third surfaces to emerge from the first and second optical elements through the second surface toward an exit pupil. The second surface of the second optical element has an overlap area facing or contacting the third surface of the first optical element. The second optical element causes the light flux from the second display element to emerge toward the exit pupil through a non-overlap area in the second surface.

摘要: One of a plurality of color components which form pixels in an image that is influenced by chromatic aberrations caused by an optical system is selected as a reference color, and coordinates after conversion are calculated by applying conversion for correcting a distortion of the optical system with respect to the image to coordinates of pixels in association with the reference color. Correction values indicating amounts of color misregistration are calculated using the proportional relationship of difference values between the calculated coordinates and coordinates obtained by applying the conversion to coordinates of the image in association with remaining colors except for the reference color of the plurality of color components. Based on the calculated correction values, coordinates obtained by applying the conversion to coordinates of the image in association with the remaining colors are calculated.
