Abstract: Orchestration and/or management of services on deployed computing, electronic, appliance and like devices are described. A service orchestration and/or management system (“SOMS”) may be configured to provide for orchestration and/or management of services to one or more deployed devices. The SOMS may obtain information from deployed devices, such as status, capabilities and service metadata. The SOMS may then encapsulate and store the obtained information for later use. The SOMS may also store service information, facilitate creation of services based on stored service definition meta-data, modeling or simulating a service prior to deployment, and deployment of a service to remotely deployed devices followed by activation to begin operation of the service. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a combustion heater are provided. An example method includes measuring a room temperature, measuring a combustion heater temperature, and measuring a fuel weight. Adjustments are computed to an operational parameter to adjust a room temperature. An anticipatory alert is provided to inform a user of a predicted time at which the fuel weight will be too low to maintain the room temperature.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to perform remote monitoring are disclosed. Some example methods include adjusting an image capture rate at which an image sensor captures images based on a difference image containing differences between a first image of a first set of objects and a second image of a second set of objects. Example methods also include reducing a file size of the difference image using an edge detection technique and prioritizing one or more of a set of frames based on an amount of information contained in the frames. The frames are subdivisions of the image. In further example methods, the first image is taken at a first time and the second image is taken at a second, later time, and the method includes subtracting the first image from the second image to generate the difference image.

Abstract: A sound source localization apparatus configured to identify a location for an active sound object within a defined physical space is described. The sound source localization apparatus may include an acoustic component, a thermal component, and an analysis component. The acoustic component determines an approximate location for at least one sound object within the defined physical space. The thermal component determines an approximate location for at least one thermal object within the defined physical space. The analysis component identifies the active sound object when the approximate locations for at least one acoustic object and at least one thermal object match. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A split structure design for an internet of things (IoT) device including a control IoT device (CID) and a sensor IoT device (SID). An example of an apparatus provides a CID including a power transmitter to power a SID through a barrier and a control data transceiver to communicate with the SID through the barrier. The CID includes a power adjustor to increase a power transmission to the SID in steps, and an intermodule communicator to determine if communications have been established with the sensor IoT, and, if not, instruct the power adjustor to increase the power transmission to the SID by a step.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, and methods related to bridging communication networks. A computing device may identify one or more signals at one or more communication interfaces in accordance with one or more communication standards. The computing device may select one or more available frequency segments from a frequency spectrum database. The computing device may transform the one or more signals into one or more converted signals for transmission on a backhaul link, the backhaul link being established for two-way data communication using the one or more available frequency segments.
