Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product automatically provides spatial separation between a self-driving vehicle (SDV) operating in an autonomous mode and another vehicle on a roadway. One or more processors receive an emotional state descriptor for at least one occupant of the SDV and determine an emotional state of the occupant(s) of the SDV. A vehicle detector on the SDV detects another vehicle and the size of the other vehicle within a predefined proximity of the SDV. A control mechanisms controller determines that a field of view for the occupants in the SDV is blocked by the size of the other vehicle. The processor(s) issue spatial separation instructions to the control mechanisms controller on the SDV to adjust a spacing between the SDV and the other vehicle based on the emotional state descriptor for the occupant(s) in the SDV and the field of view for the occupant(s) in the SDV that is blocked by the size of the other vehicle.

Abstract: A method enhances an emergency reporting system for controlling equipment. A message receiver receives an electronic message from a person. The electronic message is a report regarding an emergency event. One or more processors identify a profile of the person who sent the electronic message, and determine a bias of the person regarding the emergency event based on the person's profile. One or more processors amend, based on the bias of the person, a content of the electronic message to create a modified electronic message regarding the emergency event. The modified electronic message is consolidated with other modified electronic messages into a bias-corrected report about the emergency event. One or more processors then automatically adjust equipment based on the bias-corrected report about the emergency event.

Abstract: A context-sensitive soundscape is generated by receiving a first identifier for identifying a target cognitive state for a user, and a second identifier for identifying a user cohort for the user. A present context is determined for the user. A machine-learning procedure is performed to map the target cognitive state to a set of audio output characteristics based upon the identified user cohort and the determined present context. An audio output is generated to create the context-sensitive soundscape that includes the set of audio output characteristics.

The email server also generates a social map of users with accounts on the email server. The email server receives an email message from a first user, the email message directed to a second user. The email server sends the email message to a third user in response to determining that the email message is relevant to the third user. Abstract: A reward learning system includes a user interface configured to receive modes of user information related to a state of the user. A cognitive computing system includes a reward system. The reward system includes a dynamically upgraded profile model of the user which is updated in accordance with the user information related to the state. The reward system is updated by machine learning employing feedback from user responses measured by the user interface and searched information by the cognitive computing system. The reward system includes an increasing reward protocol based on learned user preferences and responses and rewarded in accordance with user achievements.

Abstract: A method for controlling a drone includes receiving a natural language request for information about a spatial location, parsing the natural language request into data requests, configuring a flight plan and controlling one or more drones to fly over the spatial location to obtain data types based on the data requests, and extracting and analyzing data to answer the request. The method can include extracting data points from the data types, obtaining labels from a user for one or more of the data points, predicting labels for unlabeled data points from a learning algorithm using the labels obtained from the user, determining the predicted labels are true labels for the unlabeled data points and combining the extracted data, the user labeled data points and the true labeled data points to answer the request for information. The learning algorithm may be active learning using a support vector machine.
