Abstract:
A dishwasher is provided. The dishwasher measures the amount of vibration caused by a drain pump, and terminates the operation of the drain pump if the amount of vibration measured exceeds a predefined vibration level. Thus, it is possible to precisely determine, during a drain operation, when a sump will be completely drained and thus prevent the drain pump from being driven any longer if no wash fluid remains in the sump. Therefore, it is possible to prevent excessive vibration and noise from being generated.
Abstract:
There is provided a reliable method for sensing a laundry amount and a method for controlling a washing machine, in which a method for sensing a laundry amount is performed appropriately according to the laundry amount. According to the method of the present invention, the reliability in the sensed laundry amount is improved.
Abstract:
Prosthetic intervertebral discs and methods for using the same are described. The subject prosthetic discs include upper and lower endplates separated by a compressible core member. The prosthetic discs described herein include one-piece, two-piece, three-piece, and four-piece structures. The subject prosthetic discs exhibit stiffness in the vertical direction, torsional stiffness, bending stiffness in the saggital plane, and bending stiffness in the front plane, where the degree of these features can be controlled independently by adjusting the components of the discs. The interface mechanism between the endplates and the core members of several embodiments of the described prosthetic discs enables a very easy surgical operation for implantation.
Abstract:
A home appliance and a home appliance system are provided. The home appliance receives input of a sound including update information, and updates a product operating program. The home appliance system receives a sound including product information from the home appliance, judges whether to update the product operating program of the home appliance, and transmits update information.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a home appliance diagnosis system and to a method for operating same, wherein product information is output in a predetermined signal sound by a home appliance product, and the signal sound is transmitted via a communication network connected to a remote service center to enable the service center to easily check the state of the home appliance product. In addition, the product information is encoded into a predetermined format and modulated to enable sound to be outputted by the home appliance product, thereby preventing noise or signal errors. The present invention enables stable signal modulation and accurate sound output, and enables the easy recovery of the sound transmitted to the service center via the communication network.

Abstract:
A multiple laundry machine, in which an auxiliary drying device is coupled to a general laundry machine, is disclosed. The multiple laundry machine includes a laundry machine for washing or drying laundry contained in an interior of the laundry machine, an auxiliary drying device arranged at one side of the laundry machine, the auxiliary drying device having a laundry container formed in an interior of the auxiliary drying device, and a driver provided at the auxiliary drying device, to drive the auxiliary drying device.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a laundry machine and a method for controlling the same. The laundry machine includes a control panel having a main selection unit for selecting one from a plurality of washing courses, one or more than one sub-selection units for adjusting step conditions in one or more than one course selected by the main selection unit thus, and a plurality of light emission units for illuminating the main selection unit and the sub-selection unit selectively, and a control unit for driving the laundry machine according to the course and the step conditions selected thus, and controlling to illuminate the main selection unit and the sub-selection units in succession according to a handle order, thereby permitting the user to handle the laundry machine, easily.
Abstract:
A drying machine according to the present invention includes an interface unit connected to a separate washing machine with a data communication line for receiving load information from the washing machine, a rotatable drum containing a load of wet clothes which are previously washed by the washing machine, and an air supply system coupled to the drum for supplying dry air into the drum. The machine further includes a heater coupled to the air supply system for heating the dry air, and a dryer controller generating a control signal to the heater in accordance with a set of operation values which are determined based on the load information. A method of operating a drying machine according to the present invention includes the steps of receiving load information from a separate washing machine that performs wash/dehydration cycles on a load of clothes, determining a set of optimal operation values for operating a heater on the basis of the load information where the heater heats the dry air being supplied into a drum containing the load of wet clothes, and generating a control signal to the heater in accordance with the determined optional values.
