    摘要: A vacuum breaker assembly includes an outlet tube having circumferential air ports and a vacuum breaker sleeve formed of a flexible elastomeric material positioned within the outlet tube. Conventionally, a stiffening funnel will be positioned within the vacuum breaker sleeve. The elastomeric sleeve has an inlet end and an outlet end and is located within the outlet tube adjacent the spaced air ports. The vacuum breaker sleeve has lip seals in the interior intermediate the inlet and outlet ends, with the lip seals opening in response to water pressure at the inlet end to permit water to pass through the vacuum breaker assembly. There are peripherally spaced projections on the exterior of the vacuum breaker sleeve adjacent the outlet end to space the exterior of the sleeve from the outlet tube. There is a tapered lip seal extending axially from the outlet end of the vacuum breaker sleeve, with the lip seal being downstream of the spacing projections. The tapered lip seal is outwardly movable into closing contact with the outlet tube in response to back pressure downstream of the vacuum breaker assembly, such closing contact preventing water flow through the air ports of the outlet tube.

    摘要: A vandalproof cap assembly for closing an access opening in a plumbing fitting includes a plastic sleeve formed and adapted to be normally non-removably attached to the plumbing fitting about the access opening. The plastic sleeve has a plurality of outwardly extending flexible projections. There is a cap with a smooth exterior and an interior recess which is snapped upon the sleeve so that the sleeve projections interlock with the cap recess. When so mounted the cap is freely rotatable relative to the sleeve, and can only be removed from the sleeve with a tool and specific knowledge as to use of the tool.

    摘要: A sensor-activated, battery-powered toilet room flush valve has a body with an inlet and an outlet. There is a valve seat in the body and a diaphragm which closes upon the seat to control flow between the inlet and the outlet. A cover mounted on the body defines a pressure chamber with the diaphragm and there are a sensor, solenoid and battery mounted on the cover and connected for operation of the flush valve. There is a passage in the cover connecting the pressure chamber and the outlet. Operation of the solenoid opens the passage to relieve pressure in the chamber to the outlet whereby the diaphragm moves off its seat to open communication between the inlet and outlet. A stop is positioned within the chamber and attached to the diaphragm to limit its movement toward the cover, which in turn controls the volume of water passing through the flush valve prior to closure of the diaphragm upon its valve seat. The stop is adjustable from the outlet side of the valve.

    摘要: An automatic hand dryer contains a heating element and a motor which drives a squirrel cage fan. The fan exhausts air past the heating element to a downwardly-directed outlet. A base or mounting plate is adapted for flush mounting to a wall. The axis of the fan is peripendicular to the base plate and wall to which the dryer is attached. A control or sensing circuit emits signals to a detection zone beneath the outlet and monitors the zone for reflected signals indicative of a user's presence. The circuit operates to energize and deenergize the power circuit to the fan motor and heating element. Upon detection for a predetermined period, the circuit energizes the power circuit. The control circuit deenergizes the power circuit upon interruption of the reflected signals for a predetermined period, or after a predetermined maxium time period of continuous detection. Under the latter condition, the stimulus reflecting the emitted signals must be removed from the detection zone to reactivate the control circuitry. Any incremental interruption in the reflected signal which does not exceed the period of permitted interruption, restarts the commencement of the timing of the maximum period of continuous detection.
