摘要: A Multi-Armed Lifting Accessory is disclosed herein which is compact and transportable in various deployments. The Multi-Armed Lifting Accessory is advantageous and useful as it has hingedly connected loading and support arms attached to a main lifter body. The supporting arms are spring loaded allowing the Multi-Armed Lifting Accessory to stably engage with irregular shaped objects such as barge lid or a skid steer loader and allows for flexible engagement and balanced lifting operations.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosed subject matter are directed to facilitating peer-to-peer data exchange in a common domain. In accordance with one embodiment, a method is provided for obtaining content from one or more peers that are connected to the domain. The method includes registering a peer with a super-peer when a connection to the domain is established. Then, the connecting peer obtains data that describes various network conditions and identifies chunks of content available from other peers. In downloading content from other peers, heuristics are applied to select between available chunks that are potentially encoded at different bitrates. The heuristics account for the network conditions between peers and balance the potential need to quickly access content with the desire to obtain high quality content.

摘要: A method of line speed sequence number checking of frames includes, in a first process, using a lowest order bit of a sequence number of a frame to assign the frame to an odd or even second process, and dispatching at least the sequence number for processing by the assigned second process. The method includes, in the first process, flagging as a first sequence error type occurrences of assigning consecutively processed frames to the same second process. The method includes, in the second processes, checking the sequence number of an incoming frame, flagging as a second sequence error type non-consecutive sequence numbers in consecutively processed incoming frames, and dispatching the frame for additional downstream processing. The method is applicable to a hierarchy of processes, and to multiplexed flows. The method can use a modulo N of the sequence number to assign the frame to one of N processes.

摘要: A method of operating an audio system having first and second sources includes outputting a first audio signal from the first source on first and second speakers. In response to a listener input, the first audio signal and a second audio signal from the second source are output simultaneously on the first and second speakers. The first signal is output from each of the first and second speakers such that the first signal is perceived by a listener to originate from a first direction toward the listener. The second signal is output from each of the first and second speakers such that the second signal is perceived by the listener to originate from a second direction toward the listener. The second direction is offset at least ninety degrees from the first direction.

摘要: A trimmer head configured for operating in a fixed line configuration and a bump-feed configuration. The trimmer head includes a base including a cup having a top wall and a substantially cylindrical side wall defining an aperture. The base also includes a collar extending axially from the top wall of the cup for coupling the trimmer head with the output shaft. A fixed line head is at least partially received within the cup when the trimmer head is in the fixed line configuration and a bump-feed spool is at least partially received within the cup of the base when the trimmer head is in the bump-feed configuration.

摘要: A system calculates the optimal allocation of two or more resources provided by a resource provider to a task within a computer system from a plurality of possible allocations. In doing so, the system calculates the total volume of an N-dimensional cube, where N is the number of resources provided by the resource provider, representing the respective amounts of resources available to be allocated. The system also calculates the average volume of the N-1 dimensional shapes forming the sides of the N-dimensional cube. The system then calculates, at least partly from the ratio of the total volume to the average volume, the balance resulting from the allocation of resources represented by the N-dimensional cube. The system then calculates the imbalance resulting from the allocation of resources at least partly from the balance and determines the smallest imbalance as the optimal allocation of resources.

摘要: A suture punch system that is capable of directly passing braided suture through tissue in a simple, one-step process. The system includes three principle components: a malleable needle capable of delivering the suture to the tissue, a handheld instrument for grasping tissue and controlling needle placement, and a force-supplying mechanism to supply the force required for needle placement. Needle deformation begins at the tip of the instrument, which beneficially includes a curved segment. As the distal tip of the needle pierces the tissue, it continues its radial path through the tissue. When the proximal end of the needle exits from the instrument, the needle may be radial in shape and traverses an essentially radial path through the tissue. Once the needle has passed entirely through the tissue, it may be retrieved using the jaws of the punch or another instrument.
