A bath selected from the group consisting of developer prebaths and developer baths for black and white development of a negative-type silver halide photographic element comprising an aqueous solution of accelerator compound of the formula: ##STR2## is also disclosed, wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 are substituents; said R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 may further combine with each other to form a 5-, 6-, or 7-membered ring; with the proviso that said developer prebath and developer bath do not contain any iron(III) ion complex salt having bleaching activity or any nucleating agent capable of chemically fogging a negative-type silver halide emulsion; and said accelerator compound is present in an amount between 10.sup.-8 and 10.sup.-1 moles/L.

    摘要: A diffusion transfer process is disclosed for forming a color photographic image comprising the steps of:providing an aqueous-developable photographic color diffusion transfer element of two or more layers comprising a single dimensionally stable support, radiation sensitive silver halide, an aqueous solid particle thermal solvent dispersion for facilitating the thermal diffusion of dyes through a hydrophilic binder, a dye-releasing or dye-forming coupler compound, and hydrophilic binder, wherein said dye is heat transferable in said binder and said thermal solvent, said thermal solvent has a melting point between 50.degree. C. and about 200.degree. C., said dispersion contains a dispersing aid, and said thermal solvent is incorporated at 5 to 200% by weight of said hydrophilic binder;exposing said element to actinic radiation;processing said element by contacting said element to an external aqueous bath containing compounds selected from the group consisting of conventional color developer compounds of the primary amine type, compounds which activate the release of incorporated color developers, and compounds which activate development by incorporated dye developers;washing said element;drying said clement to remove imbibed water; andheating said element to effect dye diffusion transfer to an image receiving layer, wherein bleaching and fixing steps are absent in said diffusion transfer process.

    摘要: The polymerization and copolymerization of photographically useful vinyl monomers can be effected by dissolving such monomers in an isotropic oil-in-water microemulsion or in an isotropic water-in-oil microemulsion, each comprising monomers or comonomers, surfactants and/or cosurfactants, water, and optionally electrolytes. The microemulsion may be characterized as transparent or nearly transparent to the eye at 1% (w/w) or greater monomer, ultrafine in particle (droplet) size (typically in the range of 30 to 900 .ANG. in diameter), and spontaneously formed upon combining all the components with moderate stirring. The polymerization process is subsequently initiated with free radical initiators or with ultraviolet light. The components are chosen so that photographically useful polymers or photographically useful latexes are obtained, and said polymers or latexes may be coated in a photographic element.
