    摘要: A fluid specimen testing device having a removable lid which carries at least one testing strip behind a transparent top viewing window. Testing is initiated by tilting the device into a stable sideways orientation to allow the specimen to contact the sampling pad portion of the strip. The device is adapted to provide stability in the upright, tilted and inverted orientations. A roll-inhibiting feature also acts as an indicator for proper roll positioning in the tilted configuration. The strips are also oriented in the lid so that they are substantially vertical when the device is in the tilted position thereby enhancing a condition for proper capillarity. The strip is carried close to the upper surface which allows it to be copied on a flat glass copier providing for more objective recordation of the test results.

    摘要: A method and system reconstructs a contone image from a binary image by first tagging pixels to identify one of a multiplicity of image content types. The tag information and the pattern of bits surrounding the pixel to be converted to a contone value are used to reconstruct a contone image from a binary image. The pattern of bits in the neighborhood is used to generate a unique identifier. The unique identifier is used as the address for a lookup table with the contone value to be used wherein each lookup table corresponds to an image context type.

    摘要: This invention provides a data bit redundancy method and apparatus that permits the replacement of faulty bitlines on a data bit basis as opposed to a column address basis. This invention provides a semiconductor memory device having memory cells arranged in columns and rows. Normal local data lines are connected to a global data line via a first switch. A redundant memory data line is connected to the global data line via a second switch. A control generating first and second control signals are coupled to the respective first and second switches for operating the switch in response to a status of a fuse component, whereby when the fuse is intact the normal data lines are connected to the global data line and when the rise is blown the redundant data lines are connected to the global data line, thus not requiring additional redundancy address decoding circuitry.

    摘要: A system and method for seamlessly increasing download throughput in a wireless wide area network (WWAN) device is herein disclosed. Remote file servers frequently impose per connection transfer limits upon host devices that are requesting files for download. In order to bypass these limitations, a WWAN device acting as a proxy server can replace a single file request with a series of independent requests over multiple connections, each requesting a separate portion of the original file. The blocks of requested data can then be reassembled at the WWAN device before being transferred to the device requesting the file. A user of the requesting device can therefore benefit from increased download rates, yet without having to download or install any additional software within the requesting device.

    摘要: An assay test device comprises a cup container having a detachable top cover that has a volume-reducing internal structure. A pocket shaped and dimensioned to nest a chromatographic test strip cartridge is mounted against a flattened transparent portion of the cup side wall. The cartridge is held in a vertical position with an aperture near the top edge of the cup. A splash shield projects for the brim region of the cup over that aperture preventing any part of the sample fluid poured into the cup from entering the cartridge and contacting the test strips prematurely. When the lid is installed and the cup flipped upside-down, the internally projecting structure raises the level of sample fluid for better access to the cartridge aperture. The structure can be adapted to extend all the way through the inside of the cup to contact its closed bottom. A central cavity in the structure having a open end captures a small volume of fluid and preserves it for later confirmatory analysis. In one embodiment of the invention the central cavity is created by a well secured to the bottom of the cup that is telescopically engage by a cap secured to an undersurface portion of the internally projecting structure.
