摘要: The present invention relates to a low-cost, thermally reversible valve for paper-fluidic diagnostic devices. In particular, this invention demonstrates a tunable valve mechanism fabricated by wax-ink printing and localized heating via thin-film resistors to sequentially release liquids through a cellulose or nitrocellulose membrane. The wax-ink valve can obstruct fluid flow for a sustained time and are thermally actuated to release a controlled amount of liquid past the valve. This integrated paper-fluidic diagnostic assay device requires minimal user involvement, can be easily manufactured and tuned to meet various fluid delivery timing and incubation needs.

摘要: A lateral flow assay device comprises a test strip to receive a quantity of fluid comprising a quantity of exosomes and detect the presence of a target analyte on the surface of the exosomes. The test strip comprises a conjugate pad that contains a set of one or more types of tetraspanin binding reagents conjugated with a label. Each type of tetraspanin binding reagent is configured to bind with a corresponding type of exosome tetraspanin and form an immunocomplex comprising an exosome. The conjugate pad is fluidly connected to a membrane. The membrane comprises a test line comprising an immobilized binding reagent to the target analyte. The immobilized binding reagent to the target analyte is configured to bind to a protein of the target analyte on the surface of an exosome in an immunocomplex comprising the exosome.

The opening has a first portion disposed over the well bore and a second portion disposed over the channel. The first portion has a larger area than the second portion. An angle defined by tangents to the inner surface of the first and second portions at a junction between the first and second portions is at least 100° and not greater than 180°. The reagent container further includes a top coupled over the top surface of the base and defining windows providing access to the openings of the plurality of wells and the tube receptacle.

摘要: A device for urinalysis in a bowl of a toilet is provided. In one aspect, the device includes a cassette including a dipstick on a roll. The dipstick has a sequence of sensing area and non-sensing area on the roll. The device includes a control unit operatively coupled to the cassette. The control unit is configured to automatically feed the sensing area of the dipstick to a predetermined location so that urine flows over the sensing area of the dipstick to induce a reaction on the sensing area. The device includes a sensor unit configured to measure the at least one value of the sensing area that reacted with the urine, and transmit the measured at least one value to an external device.
