Abstract: An image forming method: imaging an image forming medium in the image forming unit to generate medium image data representing the image forming medium; controlling an image formation in a plurality of modes including a single-side image forming mode and a duplex image forming mode; and detecting an ink stain based on tone differences between first medium image data and second medium image data by comparing the first medium image data as medium image data representing one surface of the image forming medium and the second medium image data as medium image data representing another surface of the image forming medium when the duplex image forming mode is selected. The controlling includes setting the whole image formable region as the target of the ejection restriction process in response to the detection of the ink stain to inhibit an ejection of the ink to the other surface.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for decoding data streams are provided. A computing device can receive a decoder-input data stream (DIDS) encoded in a decoder-input format, the DIDS including a page table for pages in the DIDS, resources of the pages in the DIDS, and commands related to the resources, where the commands are in a binary format. The page table can refer to the pages of the DIDS. The resources can include reusable resources that are used multiple times in the DIDS, where each reusable resource is stored only once in the DIDS. The resources can be stored in first-come, first-served fashion in the DIDS. The computing device can decode the DIDS by executing the commands to generate an output depicting the pages. The computing device can provide the output depicting the pages.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for decoding data streams are provided. A computing device can receive a decoder-input data stream encoded in a decoder-input format. The decoder-input data stream can include one or more pages of content. The decoder-input data stream can be initiated by an identifier identifying the decoder-input format (which may be the same as an encoder-output format) and a lookup table. The lookup table can reference objects within the decoder-input data stream and can specify locations of each of the one or more pages within the decoder-input data stream. The computing device can generate an output based on the decoder-input data stream.

Abstract: Methods and systems for printing and cutting are described. Methods include generating an output image by placing a plurality of input images into an output image, identifying white space in one of the plurality of input images, determining the largest one of remaining ones of the plurality of input images that will fit the white space having been identified, locating the largest one of the remaining ones of the plurality of input images having been determined in the white space, and generating the output image comprising one of the plurality of input images and the largest one of the remaining ones of the plurality of input images having been positioned in the white space.

Abstract: A method for synchronizing consumption of a plurality of toners in a printing device by implementing an automated toner Throughput rate reduction is disclosed, comprising steps of detecting levels of the plurality of toners; identifying, based on a given criteria and detected levels, at least one toner out of the plurality of toners that is running low; calculating a Throughput Rate Reduction (TRR) for each of the identified toners; and reducing Toner Throughput Rate (TTR) at the current printing mode for the identified toner by TRR thereby conserving the identified at least one toner. The toners are identified for reduced throughput based on a dynamic threshold that is equal to difference in its level as compared to toner having highest level. Dynamic thresholds for toners is determined either dynamically at beginning of each print job, or periodically at set intervals, or in combination of two.
