    摘要: In a magneto-optical recording medium comprising a perpendicular magnetizable thin film layer formed from an amorphous rare earth metal-transition metal alloy on a substrate with or without an intermediate layer, and a first protective layer formed from a plasma-polymerized film on the magnetizable layer; a second protective layer is formed on the first protective layer by curing a radiation-curable compound coating and/or an undercoat layer of a plasma-polymerized film is formed on the substrate in order to improve the moisture proofness of the magnetic layer. The substrate may be plasma treated to improve adherence. Covering the overall outside surface of the medium with a cured film of a radiation-curable compound ensures best shelf stability.

    摘要: A magnetic thin film comprised of at least one, usually two magnetic metals selected from iron, nickel, and cobalt is vapor phase grown on a substrate, for example, polyimide film by introducing chemical compounds of the metals in vapor form, a reducing gas, and optionally, an oxidizing gas, into a vacuum chamber where the substrate is placed and preferably heated to a temperature of at least 100.degree. C., and subjecting the reaction gases to plasma excitation, thereby achieving the vapor phase growth of the magnetic thin film on the substrate.

    摘要: Provided is a high frequency amplifier including two amplifying elements of different element sizes connected in parallel and switching the amplifying elements in accordance with a level of output power. In particular, the high frequency amplifier includes an output matching circuit for matching to characteristic impedance (50 ohms) both when the output power is high and low, and increasing impedance when the turned-off amplifying element is viewed from a connection node on an output side of the two amplifying elements. Consequently, characteristics such as high output power and high efficiency can be achieved and it is possible to prevent an amplified high frequency signal from passing around to a matching circuit on a turned-off amplifying element side.

    摘要: A protective thin-film for a magnetic head is produced by a method comprising vapor-depositing from an atmosphere containing Si, C and H under an operating pressure of less than 0.05 Torr while applying a negative bias voltage of less than −400 V but greater than −1000 V to a magnetic head, a protective thin film on at least the surface of the head facing a recording medium, the protective film containing Si, C and H in amounts of 3-9 at %, 61-81 at % and 16-30 at %, respectively, having a thickness of 1-3 nm and having a refractive index of 2.0 or more.

    摘要: A method of producing a wear-resistant protective film for a thermal head comprises depositing a wear-resistant protective film by sputtering on a thermal head which includes a substrate, and a heat-developing layer and a pair of electrodes formed on either the substrate or a heat-regenerative layer formed thereon. A layer of the wear resistant protective film is formed under a RF larger bias and another layer without a bias or with a smaller bias. Good step coverage is obtained by the RF sputter layer of the wear-resistant and the protective film prevents the intrusion of water that can cause cracking, and the layer formed under no or smaller bias reduces internal stresses and inhibits the development of cracks due to internal stresses as well as the cracking by RF sputtering.
