    摘要: The invention relates to a sliding bearing composite material with a hard metal support layer and a metallic sliding coating which is roll-bonded onto said support layer. The inventive sliding bearing composite is made of an aluminum alloy with tin comprising 10 to 20 percent by mass and with additions of copper and nickel. The sliding layer is in direct contact with the sliding mate. The sliding bearing composite material is thus improved with respect to the loading capacity and plasticity in that the aluminum alloy is comprised of tin, copper, nickel and remaining aluminum, the copper and nickel each have a percentage by mass of 0.2 to 2, and the ratio of percentage by mass of copper to the percentage by mass of nickel is between 0.6 and 1.5.

    摘要: It is an object of the invention to provide a bearing device in which the bearing performance is not lowered even when the temperature is changed. In order to attain the object, the bearing device has a shaft and a sleeve. The shaft is made of stainless alloyed steel and has dynamic pressure generating grooves of a herringbone-like shape. The sleeve consists of the body made of a copper alloy, and an electroless nickel plated layer which covers the whole surface of the body. The electroless nickel plated layer has a coefficient of thermal expansion which is smaller than that of the body made of a copper alloy. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the shaft made of stainless alloyed steel is smaller than that of the body of the sleeve made of a copper alloy. When the temperature is raised, the electroless nickel plated layer suppresses the amount of thermal expansion of the body.

    摘要: A radial bearing and method for making the same are disclosed. Radial bearings are typically used in downhole motors to control the direction of drilling in directional drilling operations. The cuttings from the bit are carried away by the drilling fluid and flow across the surfaces of the bearings before being removed from the well. The cuttings will contain sand and other hard and/or corrosive substances that will erode the surfaces of the bearings and shorten their useful life. The bearing of this invention is provided with a wear resistant surface to inhibit such erosion. The bearing of this invention is made from a bearing blank to which is applied a first overlay of mild steel with dispersed cemented metal carbide pellets. The composition of the cemented metal carbide pellets is disclosed. The first overlay may be applied by any conventional technique. A second overlay of mild steel is applied to the first overlay utilizing a MIG welding process. As the second overlay is applied, a portion of the hard metal particles in the first overlay is dispersed in the weld puddle forming the second overlay. The result is a steel hybrid matrix that can be machined down to desired dimensions and which will provide improvements in wear resistance that enable the bearing to have an extended useful life even when used in highly erosive environments. This hardbanding process may be applied to any other metal part that is subjected to erosive environments such as thrust bearings, rotors, drive shafts and the like which would benefit from an improved wear resistant surface.

    摘要: A plain bearing comprises a metallic backing, a sintered porous metal layer bonded to the backing and a lining layer infiltrated into the pores of the porous metal layer and overlying the sintered metal layer, said lining layer comprising PTFE containing 10-30% by vol. of particulate wear-resistant filler, 2-10% by vol. fibrillated aramid fibers and 2-10% by vol. of a melt processable fluoropolymer. The melt processable fluoropolymer is a copolymer of the group tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene, tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkylvinylether and monofluoroalkoxy. Such a bearing exhibits superior cavitation erosion resistance and may, by increasing the temperature and/or duration of the sintering operation that is normally performed after the mixture of ingredients has been applied to a backing material, be made to exhibit significantly improved fatigue strength.

    摘要: Properties of mechanical bearings and mechanical seals can be significantly improved by covering the load-bearing surfaces with fields of high aspect ratio microstructures (HARMs), such as microchannels or microposts. The HARMs can substantially enhance heat transfer capability and lubricant flow. The present invention uses microstructures and micro-channels manufactured by a modified LIGA process to enhance the performance of load bearing surfaces. Benefits include reduced operating temperatures, precise metering of lubricant flow to all affected surfaces, increased reliability, increased life, higher maximum rotational speed, and the ability of the seal or bearing to run “dry,” that is, without periodic re-application of lubricant. The invention may be used with a variety of bearings and mechanical seals, including for example ball bearings, roller bearings, journal bearings, air bearings, magnetic bearings, single mechanical seals, double mechanical seals, tandem mechanical seals, bellows, pusher mechanical seals, and all types of rotating and reciprocating machines. Improved cooling jackets are also disclosed, for use with bearings, seals, or other applications.
