There is provided a server for providing contents, which is provided with a registration unit that stores first destination information representing a destination of offering of contents in a memory, as a regular destination of contents, if the registration unit receives a command for registration accompanied by the first destination information, a content providing unit that provides contents to a client device corresponding the regular destination stored in the memory, and a switched content providing unit that operates to stop offering of contents by the content providing unit for a predetermined time period if the switched content providing unit receives a command for switching accompanied by second destination information representing a destination of offering of contents, to provide contents to a client device corresponding to the second destination information, to stop offering of contents to the client device corresponding to the second destination information if the predetermined time period has elapsed, and to restart the offering of contents by the content providing unit.

A printing apparatus is connected to a WAN and a LAN and can perform a bidirectional communication with each terminal in those networks. In the printing apparatus, a CPU sends a Web server a request signal, which received from a LAN terminal, and receives content data sent from the web server as a response to the request signal. On the basis of a predetermined determination condition, the CPU determines whether to cause a printing unit to print the content data sent from the web server. If determining that the content data is to be printed, the CPU causes the printing unit to print the content data.

The image processing device may include a parameter designating unit, a service request unit, and a function implementation unit that is adapted to implement the function of the image processing device based on the service providing parameter designated by the parameter designating unit. The service providing device is provided with a service provision executing unit that is adapted to execute a process to provide the service to the image processing device after receiving the request from the service request unit provided to the image processing device.

A network system includes a directory server configured to provide service definition information through a network, and a terminal device configured to receive the service definition information. The directory server may include a server communication unit, a service definition information storing unit configured to store main information and auxiliary information as part of service definition information, and a service definition information transmission control unit that retrieves the service definition information from the service definition information storing unit and transmit the same to the terminal device. The terminal device may include a terminal communication unit, an outputting unit, an input receiving unit and an output control unit. When received the service definition information from the directory server, the output control unit controls the outputting unit to output the main information, and when the input receiving unit receives a predetermined input instruction, the auxiliary information is output.

An image processing system including an image processing device, a service supply unit and an information supply unit is provided. In the system, the image processing device includes a service search data transmission unit, a service determination unit, and a service requesting unit. The information supply unit including a service search data reception unit which receives the service search data transmitted from the image processing device; a presumption unit which presumes a probability that the image processing device requests the service supply unit to execute each of the services executable by the service supply unit based on the service search data received by the service search data reception unit and according to prescribed presumption rules; and a list supply unit which supplies the image processing device with one of a list generated by extracting services likely to be requested by the image processing device from the service supply unit from all the services executable by the service supply unit and a list generated by sorting the services executable by the service supply unit according to the probability that the image processing device requests the service supply unit to execute each of the services based on presumption result by the presumption unit, as the information on services executable by the service supply unit.

Provided are a hybrid vehicle and control method thereof. The hybrid vehicle has a power storage device, an internal combustion engine, a power generation device, an input device and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to control charging of the power storage device by the power generation device in such a manner that charging of the power storage device is promoted when an increase of the power storage amount is requested through the input device, and in a state where an increase of the power storage amount has been requested through the input device, to suppress charging of the power storage device when a travel load is small, as compared to when the travel load is large, and to mitigate suppression of charging of the power storage device when a predefined condition is met during suppression of charging of the power storage device.
