Abstract:
A cast iron cylinder liner of the present invention includes a plurality of grooves formed on an outer surface of the cylinder liner. Each of the grooves extends in a circumferential direction of the cylinder liner in a ring or spiral shape, and the grooves divide the outer surface of the cylinder liner into a plurality of ring or spiral sections. The outer surfaces of the ring sections have a uniform distance from the central axis of the cylinder liner over the entire area of the outer surfaces, and the grooves being arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the cylinder liner in an axial direction thereof. Each of the grooves has a J-shaped longitudinal cross-section including a first inclination part and a groove bottom part. The first inclination part extends from the outer surface of one of the ring sections or of one turn of the spiral sections toward the center of the cylinder liner in an axial direction thereof. The groove bottom part has a longitudinal cross-section approximately in the form of a circular arc, and extends from the first inclination part in a direction away from the center of the cylinder liner in an axial direction thereof.
Abstract:
A casting C obtained by solidification of molten metal by using a pair of water cooled casting rolls 2a, 2b is subjected to temperature adjustment in a temperature zone so that an austenite structure exists in its matrix. Thereafter, the casting is rolled by an in-line rolling mill 5 at a temperature ranging from 850.degree. C. to less than 1,350.degree. C. and at a reduction of 5 to 50%. In this way, overall variance of elongation of the steel material is kept within 5% in terms of the standard deviation.

Abstract:
A receiver has a random counter, which outputs a timer signal to a control circuit. A zero-cross point detection circuit generates a detection signal which is input to the control circuit. When the random counter outputs a timer signal and the zero-cross detection circuit detects a zero-cross point, a muting function is activated. Simultaneously, different frequencies are scanned for broadcasts containing the same program and having higher field strengths. If on re-checking zero-cross point detection, a zero-cross point is found or a predetermined interval has expired, then the muting function is deactivated. The frequency with the greater field strength is selected.

Abstract:
Merchandise discharged from a packaging machine in a lateral posture can be reliably aligned into a longitudinal posture, and the merchandise can then be sent to a labeling machine with one side of each article in sliding contact with an article-aligning member at all times, irrespective of the size of tray used. This enables the omission of the operations of correcting the posture and position of articles by an operator, and the articles can always be labeled at correct portions thereof, said turn conveyor is so formed that the height of a start end thereof can be regulated to enable the turn conveyor, alignment conveyor, weighing machine and labeling machine to be connected to a packaging machine which has an article discharge section at a height different from that of the turn conveyor or an intermediate conveyor connected to the discharge section of the packaging machine.
