It is difficult to appropriate estimate the colorimetric values of an arbitrary patch at a desired temperature with respect to an arbitrary medium in consideration of the influence of a fluorescent whitening agent contained in the medium. Target patch colorimetric values obtained when patches of a plurality of colors formed on a medium using color samples are measured at a target temperature designated in step S101. This estimation is implemented when both media-dependent variation correction processing (S102) that estimates patch colorimetric values based on the temperature characteristics of the medium, and toner-dependent variation correction processing (S103) that estimates patch colorimetric values based on the temperature characteristics of the color samples are executed. By correcting image data whose image is to be formed based on the target patch colorimetric values (S104), an arbitrary color patch on an arbitrary medium can be coped with.

A first color value of a printing medium under a first light source which emits first light including light in an ultraviolet region and at a first temperature is obtained from either a measured data table or a measurement section. A second color value of the printing medium under the first light source and at a second temperature different from the first temperature is obtained from either the measured data table or the measurement section. A color value of the printing medium at a viewing temperature, which is different from the first and second temperatures, is estimated from the obtained first and second color values.

The present invention provides a method for preparing a soft vegetable material which is suitably used for the production of a food or a meal for, in particular, the aged persons and which holds the shape of a particular ingredient of the food. The method comprises the steps of: (1) freezing a vegetable material and then thawing the frozen vegetable material to thus form a thawed vegetable material; (2) immersing the thawed vegetable material in a dispersion containing a pectin-decomposition enzyme or a cellulose-decomposition enzyme under reduced pressure; and (3) subjecting the vegetable material, which has been immersed in the dispersion and then thawed, to a heat-treatment at a temperature for a time sufficient for deactivating the pectin-decomposition enzyme or a cellulose-decomposition enzyme. Moreover, the thawing treatment in the foregoing step (1) may likewise be carried out simultaneous with the step of the enzyme-impregnation treatment under reduced pressure.

A first color patch printed on a first printing material and a second color patch printed on a second printing material, which match each other in appearance in a desired environment, are acquired. The calorimetric values of a color patch to be measured which is printed on the first printing material are corrected using the calorimetric values of the first and second color patches and a spectrophotometric calorimeter for obtaining calorimetric values in a desired environment, thereby generating effective calorimetric values.

A method and a system for causing a neural circuit model to learn typical past control results of a process and using the neural circuit model for supporting an operation of the process. The neural circuit model is caused to learn by using, as input signals, a typical pattern of values of input variables at different points in time and, as a teacher signal, its corresponding values of the control variable. An unlearned pattern of input variables is inputted to the thus-learned neuron circuit model, whereby a corresponding value of the control variable is determined. Preferably, plural patterns at given time intervals can be simultaneously used as patterns to be learned.

The present invention provides a yarn traversing device for traversing a yarn by reciprocating first and second yarn guides respectively along first and second helical cam grooves, comprising a helical cam roller provided with the first and second helical cam grooves each consisting of a substantially linear active traverse groove and a return traverse groove having two curved reversing sections connected respectively to the opposite ends of the active traverse groove. The first and second yarn guides engage the first and second helical cam grooves, respectively, and are disposed one above the other with respect to the running direction of the yarn.
