Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for rating-based mapping of data to memory are described. A memory system may determine a first rating for a set of data selected for writing to a memory system. The memory system may select a target page of a block in the memory system for writing the set of data based at least in part on a second rating for the target page. The memory system may write the set of data to the target page based at least in part on the first rating for the set of data corresponding to the second rating for the target page.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for host-enabled block swap techniques are described. In some examples, a host system may receive an indication of a health metric associated with a first physical block and a second physical block of a memory system, where a first logical block of the memory system is associated with a first type of data and is mapped to the first physical block, and where a second logical block of the memory system is associated with a second type of data. The host system may then determine that the health metric associated with the first physical block satisfies a threshold and may update a mapping associated with the first virtual block, the second virtual block, the first physical block, and the second physical block.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include apparatuses and methods for sensor blocking. In a number of embodiments, a method can include operating a sensor block of an apparatus in a first mode to allow a sensor to receive inputs, and operating the sensor block in a second mode to inhibit the sensor from receiving the inputs. A sensor block can be used to prevent a sensor, such as an image sensor, from receiving an input, such as a light source input, to capture image data. A sensor block can be used to prevent a sensor from capturing image data even when an application causing to the sensor to operate, such as when applications have access to the sensor, but the user of a device is unaware that an application is using the sensor. The sensor block can be used to prevent the sensor from capturing useful images and the sensor can only capture a black image of the sensor block and not the surroundings of the device.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems related to determining biometric data using an array of infrared (IR) illuminators are described. In an example, a method can include projecting a number of IR dots on a user using a dot projector and an array of IR illuminators, capturing an IR image of the number of IR dots using an IR camera, comparing a number of pixels of the captured IR image to a number of corresponding pixels of a baseline IR image using a processing resource, and determining biometric data of the user at least partially based on comparing the captured IR image to the baseline IR image using the processing resource.

Memory systems can include multiple types of memory media (e.g., volatile and/or non-volatile) and can write data to the memory media types. Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are memory devices which feature customizable Single Level Cell (SLC) and Multiple Level Cell (MLC) configurations. The configuration (e.g., the size and position) of the SLC cache may have an impact on power consumption, speed, and other performance of the memory device. An operating system of an electronic device to which the memory device is installed may wish to achieve different performance of the device based upon certain conditions detectable by the operating system. In this way, the performance of the memory device can be customized by the operating system through adjustments of the performance characteristics of the SLC cache.

Modifying pictures can include placing an image of a picture in a different picture, replacing an image of the picture with a different image, deleting an image from the picture, and/or storing an image from the picture. In an example, a method can include displaying a first picture on a user interface of a mobile device, receiving, on the user interface, a selection of at least one foreground image included in the first picture, receiving, on the user interface, a selection of a background image included in a library of images, and displaying, on a user interface, a second picture including the at least one selected foreground image and the selected background image responsive to receiving the selection of the at least one foreground image followed by the selection of the background image.

An example method can include projecting a structured array of light, from a mobile device, onto an object. The method further includes measuring multi-directional sections of the object with the projected light. The method further includes reconstructing a three-dimensional (3D) figure of the object based on the measured multi-directional sections. The method further includes displaying an augmented reality (AR) image associated with the 3D figure on a user interface of the mobile device.
