Abstract:
A storage phosphor panel having a storage phosphor layer, characterized in that a focusing layer (8) which comprises a multiplicity of adjacent microlenses (9) is incorporated in said storage phosphor panel and forms an outer surface of said panel.
Abstract:
Moldings are disclosed for use as a catalyst or catalyst support for hydrating olefin, such as ethylene and propylene. The moldings are based on a pyrogenically produced mixed oxide having the following physicochemical parameters: External diameter 0.8-25 mm BET surface area 5-400 m2/g Pore volume 0.2-1.8 ml/g Fracture strength 5 to 350 N Composition At least two materials selected from the group of SiO2, Al2O3, TiO2 and ZrO2 in any desired combination, with the proviso that when the combination is a SiO2/Al2O3 mixed oxide, at least 75 wt. % of SiO2 is present based on the total weight of the mixed oxide. Abstract:
A thermionic emitter has a flat emission surface that is subdivided by slits into generally spiral or serpentine conductor sections, the surface having legs extending therefrom that form part of the current supply terminals and that also serve for securing the emitter. Each of these legs has a portion with a longitudinal electrical resistance that is elevated compared to that of the conductor sections, such that areas of maximum temperature migrate from the middle of the emitter to its edges as the heating current increases.
Abstract:
An apparatus for reading out a storage luminophore plate has a holder for the storage luminophore plate as well as for a detector line, and a device for setting the spacing between the storage luminophore plate and the detector line such that this spacing is controlled or regulated to be substantially constant with reference to the storage luminophore plate, at least over the region of the detector line.
Abstract:
A heating or air conditioning unit for the interior of a motor vehicle including installation frames having louvers being inserted into a receptacle of the housing provided for that purpose. The installation frame has a profile on its frame sides so that the installation frame is held in a positive-locking manner in a receptacle of the housing. The profile has a wedge-shaped structure, thin ribs extending, running apart, along a frame side in the insertion direction.
Abstract:
An anode for an x-ray tube has an incident surface on which an electron beam is incident for generating x-rays emanating from a focal spot. In at least that region wherein the focal spot is located during operation of the x-ray tube, the incident surface has a step-like structure with end faces that reside at a substantially right angle relative to the electron beam during operation of the x-ray tube. The end faces are connected by respective sidewalls, and backscattered electrons from the end faces strike the sidewalls and generate x-rays in addition to x-rays emanating from the end faces struck by the electron beam, thereby improving the efficiency of x-ray generation. A similar improvement can be achieved by an anode having a roughened surface in the region of the focal spot.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a method for removing organic substances from aluminate liquors of the Bayer process. The method comprises the steps of contacting the liquor with an oxygen containing gas under elevated pressure in the presence of metallic ions acting as a catalyst to oxidize the organic substances, precipitating the metallic ions jointly with aluminum hydroxide, separating the precipitate from the oxidized liquor and recycling the precipitated aluminum hydroxide containing the metallic ions into the oxidation step as a catalyst carrier.
Abstract:
A method for producing high purity gallium oxide by reacting gallium and water vapor at elevated temperatures and pressure in a sealed autoclave lined with a fluorinated hydrocarbon polymer such as polytetrafluoroethylene to form gallium hydroxide. The hydroxide thus formed is recovered and calcined above 600.degree. C to yield high purity gallium oxide.
Abstract:
A scintillator plate includes a substrate, a buffer layer, a scintillator layer arranged on the buffer layer, and a protective layer. The buffer layer and/or the protective layer is colored. A method for the production of the scintillator plate is also described.
Abstract:
A liquid metal bearing includes at least one first bearing part and at least one second bearing part that have a non-positive fit connection to one another. At least one first ductile sealing layer is disposed at least partly between at least a first bearing part of the at least one bearing and a second bearing part of the at least one second bearing part.
