Abstract:
A new and distinct variety of fig (Ficus carica) tree named ‘4-19’, characterized by its large size and dark purple skin, as well as its productivity and regular bearing. The tree produces two crops, both the breba first crop and the productive second, or main, crop. The fruit eye is usually small, the fruit skin and meat are moderately thick and durable, and the fruit pulp has an attractive reddish color, is fine-textured, and is sweet and rich in flavor. The fruit appears to hold its size later into the season than other commercial varieties of figs, thus extending the season for prime size and quality figs.

Described herein are filter assemblies for removing high molecular weight organic components from liquefied petroleum gas, as well as methods for removing high molecular weight components from liquefied petroleum gases. The filter assemblies include an upstream carbon-containing filter media pack and a downstream filter media pack.
Abstract:
A processing system includes a memory module that stores an electronic program guide (EPG) authoring application. A processing module executes the EPG authoring application including a graphical user interface that responds to input from an end user. The EPG authoring application creates EPG configuration data to configure an EPG application of a client device associated with the end user.

A twist drill assembly (10) comprising a shaft (30) and a drill tip (20); the shaft having a single internal shaft conduit (34) for a fluid, extending between orifices (36, 37) formed into the shaft; the drill tip having an internal drill tip conduit (22) for the fluid, extending between orifices formed into the drill tip; the shaft and the drill tip configured such that the drill tip is connectable to an end of the shaft with the internal drill tip conduit in communication with the internal shaft conduit, allowing the fluid to be capable of flowing from the internal shaft conduit into the internal drill tip conduit; the internal shaft conduit having a spiral form aligned with a central longitudinal axis of the shaft, and configured to complement the arrangement of spiral flutes (38) formed on the shaft.
Abstract:
An apparatus for depositing and aligning an amorphous film in a single step, a method of forming an aligned film on a substrate in a single step by combining the deposition and alignment of an alignment layer into a single-step using ion beam processing and an amorphous film having an aligned atomic structure prepared by a method in which an aligned film is deposited and aligned in a single step are provided. The film is deposited and aligned in a single step by bombarding a substrate with an ion beam at a designated incident angle to simultaneously (a) deposit the film onto the substrate and (b) arrange an atomic structure of the film in at least one predetermined aligned direction.
Abstract:
The disclosed invention is a process for producing synthetic crude oil and includes embodiments which convert or upgrade oil bitumen, a combination of oil sands and bitumen, a combination of sand and bitumen, oil shale and kerogen to high grade low sulfur crude oil. In one embodiment it is a continuous process for producing synthetic crude oil from oil sand bitumen. In another it produces synthetic crude oil from oil shale. The process in one embodiment includes a fluid bed reactor where the reactant and fluidizing medium is substantially hydrogen. In other embodiments, the process includes treating the oil sand (tar sand) or shale to produce a fluidizable feed, feeding the fluidizable feed to a fluidized bed reactor, and fluidizing and reacting the fluidizable feed in the fluidized bed reactor with a feed having hydrogen.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a decorative water display having many degrees of freedom. The water display has one or more water display nozzles mounted so that the direction of the nozzle may be controlled such as by a computer. In the preferred embodiment, the pressure of the water delivered to the nozzle may also be controlled as desired. Also controllable with the nozzle direction is appropriate lighting to illuminate the discharge from the nozzle for night time use. The elevation of the entire assembly is controllable, preferably between an operative position, a withdrawn position totally below the water surface and a service position extending above the water surface. Various embodiments and features are disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for improved double buffering within a computing system begins when a series of data blocks are received from a central processing unit at a rate independent of a processing rate of a recipient engine. For example, a video graphics circuit receives a series of data blocks representing video frames from the central processing unit at a rate independent of the refresh rate of the display. As the data blocks are received, the video graphics circuit queues commands of the data blocks. Typically, the commands include processing commands and a processing rate synchronize command. To process the data blocks, the co-processor pulls commands from the queued list and processes them to produce recipient data. As the co-processor is producing the recipient data, it is utilizing a first buffer. The co-processor continues to process the commands and storing the results into the first buffer until the processing rate synchronize command is detected. At this point, the co-processor pauses processing of the commands. At the beginning of the next cycle of the processing rate, the recipient data is provided from the first buffer to the recipient engine and the co-processor resumes processing of commands, which relate to another data block. As the co-processor is processing the commands of the second data block, it is utilizing a second buffer to store the processed data, i.e., the second recipient data.
Abstract:
Water display nozzle shields for allowing water display nozzles to be positioned and operated below the surface of the body of water without constant entrainment of water from the body of water affecting the nozzle characteristics. In one embodiment, a rotatable shield assembly is controllably rotatable between first and second positions. In the first position, the shield assembly is positioned over the nozzle of the water display and substantially sealed with respect thereto, the shield extending from adjacent the exit end of the nozzle which is positioned below the water level, to a position above the water level. When rotated to a second position, the nozzle shield, as well as the nozzle, are both disposed below the surface of the water so as to not be visible. In another embodiment, a weighted inflatable member is attached to the nozzle adjacent the exit thereof which, when inflated, will float to the surface of the water to provide a shield functioning as here before described and which, when deflated, will sink below the surface of the water out of sight. Various features of the shields are disclosed.
