    摘要: An image recording apparatus according to one aspect comprises: a first tray disposed within an opening of a main body to allow a recording medium to be placed thereon; a second tray disposed above the first tray, the second tray having a second end portion located on a side of the opening; a conveying unit; and a recording unit. The second tray is movable between a first posture and a second posture. When the second tray is in the first posture, a top surface of the second tray in the vicinity of the second end portion is positioned at a predetermined height relative to the first tray. When the second tray moves from the first posture to the second posture, the top surface in the vicinity of the second end portion is moved toward the first tray.

    摘要: In an image-recording device, a feeding roller feeds recording media one at a time from a media-accommodating unit along a conveying path. A pair of registration rollers is disposed on the conveying path and conveys the recording medium fed by the feeding roller to an image-recording region. The registration rollers include a drive roller. A carriage reciprocates in the image-recoding region in a direction intersecting a conveying direction in which the recording medium is conveyed. A recording head is mounted on the carriage. A drive transmission switching unit is disposed outside the image-recording region on one end with respect to the reciprocating direction of the carriage and switches a combination of rotating and halted states of the drive roller in the registration rollers and the feeding roller between a continuous feeding mode and an intermittent feeding mode. A controlling unit activates the drive transmission switching unit by moving the carriage to selectively switch between the continuous feeding mode and the intermittent feeding mode.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a sheet feed tray for loading a recording sheet, a sheet feed roller that conveys the recording sheet toward an image forming device, a conveyor roller that is disposed downstream of the sheet feed roller in a recording sheet conveying direction and that applies a conveying force on the recording sheet, a sheet position detection device that detects a position of the recording sheet in a conveying path, and a conveyor roller control device that controls a rotation amount of the conveyor roller in accordance with the detected position of the recording sheet. The control device allows the rotation amount of the conveyor roller to become greater, when a recording sheet contacts the sheet feed roller and the conveyor roller, than a rotation amount of the conveyor roller when the recording sheet contacts the conveyor roller but might not contact the sheet feed roller.

    摘要: This invention is related to a feeder for transporting a print medium from a tray along a U-shaped transporting path. The feeder comprises a transporting guide. The transportation guide comprises an outer transporting guide and an inner transporting guide, the U-shaped transporting path is formed between the outer transporting guide and the inner transporting guide. The outer transporting guide extends from a position adjacent to one end of the first tray. The inner transporting guide extends from a position adjacent to one end of the second tray. The inner transporting guide comprises a concave portion facing the outer transporting guide. The concave portion has a length which extends from an upstream end to a predetermined position of the inner transporting guide along a transportation direction of the second print medium, and a width which is adjusted such that the second print medium is capable of passing within the concave portion.

    摘要: A liquid supply unit includes a main tank, a sub-tank, a pressure supply mechanism, an air communication hole, an air-permeable film and an excess pressure dispersion unit. The main tank stores liquid. The sub-tank is provided in a jet device, which ejects liquid droplets, and connected to the main tank. The pressure supply mechanism applies predetermined pressured to liquid in the main tank for supplying the liquid to the sub-tank. The air communication hole is provided on an upper surface of the sub-tank and communicates inside of the sub-tank with atmospheric air. The air-permeable film is provided for closing the air communication hole. The air-permeable film passes air, but not liquid. The excess pressure dispersion unit disperses excess pressure from the liquid supply unit when the liquid in the sub-tank becomes in contact with the air-permeable film and the pressure inside the sub-tank becomes higher than the predetermined pressure.

A main partitioning plate is disposed in a substantially level state for covering the top of the paper conveying path leading to the bottom of the recording unit. The top surface of the main partitioning plate is formed as a support surface for supporting at least a portion of ink supply tubes that supply ink from the ink accommodating unit to the recording head.
