摘要: A package for flat, pliable objects, such as for wafer-shaped or film-shaped drug forms. The package has a carrier layer, a cover layer which is detachably connected to the carrier layer, and a first surface region wherein the carrier layer is not connected to the cover layer and is completely surrounded by a margin area. A cavity, enclosed on all sides, is formed for accommodating an object. The package has a second surface region wherein the carrier layer is not connected to the cover layer. At least one perforation line extends at least partially within the second surface region, and is provided both in the carrier layer and in the cover layer. Severing the perforation line forms a free edge of the cover layer which serves as a gripping aid and enables manual removal of the cover layer from the carrier layer. The disclosure further covers a process for packaging flat, pliable objects by forming the above-described package.

摘要: Provided is a method for disabling a motor vehicle when a user of the motor vehicle fails to complete a specific task, such as making a loan or lease payment. The method comprises first determining a payment due deadline and forwarding a signal on a two-way communication system a predetermined number of days prior to the due date to initiate a reminder system in the vehicle that the payment is coming due. A return signal is sent to the provider of the first signal that the first signal was received and the reminder system activated. Once it is determined that the due date has passed and payment has still not been made, another signal is sent which disables the vehicle. A return signal, if desired, can again be sent to the provider that the first signal for disabling the vehicle was safely received, and that the vehicle was disabled. A keypad is also provided in the system for entering an emergency code to enable the motor vehicle for a predetermined period of time whenever the vehicle has been disabled.

摘要: A composition and method are provided by which double-stranded RNA containing small interfering RNA nucleotide sequences is introduced into specific cells and tissues for the purpose of inhibiting gene expression and protein production in those cells and tissues. Intracellular introduction of the small interfering RNA nucleotide sequences is accomplished by the internalization of a target cell specific ligand bonded to a RNA binding protein to which a double-stranded RNA containing a small interfering RNA nucleotide sequence is adsorbed. The ligand is specific to a unique target cell surface antigen. The ligand is either spontaneously internalized after binding to the cell surface antigen. If the unique cell surface antigen is not naturally internalized after binding to its ligand, internalization is promoted by the incorporation of an arginine-rich peptide, or other membrane permeable peptide, into the structure of the ligand or RNA binding protein or attachment of such a peptide to the ligand or RNA binding protein. The composition and method are practiced in whole living mammals, as well as cells living in tissue culture.

摘要: A user interface for a vehicle disablement system is provided. The user interface provides an indication of an amount of time remaining prior to disablement of the vehicle. The indication can be performed using a light emitting diode (LED) which produces either a red or green light. The indication can also be performed by an LED producing a number of blinks corresponding to the amount of time remaining prior to disablement of the vehicle. Additional LEDs can be provided within a numbered user interface, for example, wherein an LED of a number on the user interface is illuminated corresponding to an amount of time remaining prior to disablement of the vehicle.

摘要: An internal combustion engine, especially Otto engine, which utilizes fuel gas supplied in a low-temperature liquefied state for the combustion process. Heat exchange means are provided for effecting a heat exchange between the intake combustion air and the fuel gas such that the combustion air is cooled down prior to combustion by its use as a heat-emitting heat-exchanging medium for preheating the low-temperature liquefied fuel gas. In one preferred embodiment, the heat exchange means is a mixing carburetor arranged upstream of the engine combustion chamber and in another preferred embodiment of the invention, the heat exchanger means is a non-contact heat exchanger for effecting heat transfer without mixing of the combustion air and fuel gas.

摘要: Bending beam arrangement for use in supporting elevated trains and the like, and method of making same. The profile member beam is formed as a composite structure having steel profilemember and a concrete profile member connected thereto. The concrete profile member is disposed and configured so as to maximally absorb the compression forces experienced by the bending beam while minimizing the total cross sectional area of the concrete so that the overall weight of the bending beam is maintained at a minimal level. By absorbing the compressive forces on the composite beam and thereby preventing buckling of the steel beam, a thin walled steel beam construction can be utilized hence substantially only significant tensile forces need be accommodated thereby. Various preferred geometrical embodiments are included with means being provided in each embodiment to accommodate supporting and guiding of an elevational or suspended train vehicle for movement therealong. Several preferred embodiments include closed profile steel girders having the concrete profile girder disposed inside the hollow space formed thereby. Other preferred embodiments of open steel beam construction are also included. In one preferred embodiment two pipes of different sizes are arranged one inside the other to form the steel profile member with a hollow space formed between the two pipes being filled with concrete constituting the compressive reinforcing concrete girder. In this last-mentioned embodiment, a longitudinal slot through both pipes is provided at the contact surface thereof for accommodating suspension of a train vehicle. The hollow space inside of the inner tube or pipe accommodate guide wheels for the vehicle as well as driving mechanisms and other support equipment. The method of manufacturing preferred embodiments of the composite steel concrete beam include controlling the temperature of the concrete mixture during curing so as to prevent formation of stresses due to dimensional changes in the concrete during curing.
