The air-bearing surface includes air-bearing portions, shallow-recessed surfaces, and a deep-recessed surface. Air-bearing portions are configured to fly nearest to a magnetic-recording disk; shallow-recessed surfaces have a first depth from the air-bearing portions; the deep-recessed surface has a second depth, larger than the first depth, from the air-bearing portions. Air-bearing portions and shallow-recessed surfaces are configured to generate positive pressure; and, the deep-recessed surface is configured to generate negative pressure. A shallow-recessed surface is disposed near a leading edge of the head-slider; air-bearing portions are preceded and abutted by the shallow-recessed surface; a plurality of small leading-end pads are disposed near a leading edge, and at least at each side of the shallow-recessed surface near lateral sides, of the head-slider; and, a leading-end deep-recessed surface is disposed at a leading side of the leading-end pads.

摘要: In a motor-driven power steering apparatus, there are provided a reference output characteristic memory previously storing a reference output characteristic expressing a corresponding relation between a driving current of an electric motor and an output torque corresponding to the driving current, a correction coefficient computing circuit computing a ratio TO/TM between an output torque TM of the electric motor detected at a time of applying a predetermined current M to the electric motor, and an output torque TO corresponding to the driving current IM in the reference output characteristic as an output correction coefficient. A current control computing unit calculates a corrected current control signal by multiplying a current control signal of the electric motor computed on the basis of a steered condition of a vehicle by the output correction coefficient, and outputs a drive control signal based on the corrected current control signal to a motor driving unit.

A temperature sensor for detecting the environmental temperature of the electric motor is provided, a correction coefficient computing circuit for reading the output correction coefficient corresponding to the temperature detected by the temperature sensor from the correction coefficient memory is provided, and a current control computing means for calculating a corrected current control signal by multiplying the current control signal of the electric motor computed on the basis of a steered condition of a vehicle by the output correction coefficient read from the correction coefficient computing circuit is provided. The drive control signal is output based on the corrected current control signal to the motor driving means.

摘要: A fiber-optic coil for use as the sensor loop of a fiber-optic gyroscope includes a first optical fiber segment wound as radially successive coiled layers around a coil bobbin in a first region thereof, and a second optical fiber segment wound as radially successive coiled layers around the coil bobbin in an axially adjacent second region thereof. The first and second optical fiber segments are joined to each other through a longitudinal middle portion, which is positioned in the radially innermost coiled layers of the first and second optical fiber segments adjacent to a longitudinal center of said coil bobbin. Each of the first and second optical fiber segments is wound in alternate axial directions in the radially successive coiled layers. The first and second optical fiber segments may be integrally joined to each other by the longitudinal middle portion, or may be separate from, but joined to, each other by a depolarizer across the longitudinal middle portion.
