This present invention provides a liquid crystal display (LCD) device in which the sub-pixel is provided with three different voltage levels, so that image quality is improved without the configuration of additional gate lines. The present invention overcomes the reduction of aperture ratio in conventional LCD devices due to the configuration of additional gate lines. By the present invention, the white washout problem relating to the off-axis viewing angle can be overcome while the aperture ratio is not reduced.

The feature values in the horizontal direction of the reference and check blocks are compared, and the feature values in the vertical direction of the reference and check blocks are compared. The results of the two comparisons comprise an evaluation value by which the degree of matching of the reference and check blocks is evaluated. The check block is moved throughout a predetermined search range, and the process is repeated for each position of the check block. A motion vector is produced between the reference block and the check block position at which the check block best matches the reference block.

A developer-carrying member to be installed in an electrophotographic developing device for carrying and conveying a developer along a surface thereof, is formed of a substrate, and an intermediate electroless plating layer and an electroplating layer disposed in this order on the substrate. As a result of the electroless and electro double plating layer structure, the developer-carrying member is provided with a wear-resistant surface which has an appropriate degree of roughness suitable for conveying the developer thereon and is yet free from minute projections and cracks undesirable from the viewpoint of continuous image forming performances.
