Abstract: A first base station (14) in a wireless communication system (10) operating according to a synchronised time division duplex scheme comprises an antenna (24), a radio communication unit (26) and an interference handling module (28). The interference handling module comprises an interference investigating unit (30) and a transmission control unit (34) configured to provide a sounding frame in which a variable downlink time interval has a pre-defined size long enough to provoke interference, order the interference investigating unit to obtain and analyse a link quality data parameter in a non-downlink time interval and determine whether interference from another base station is present. The transmission control unit is further configured to order the radio communication unit (26) to reduce the size of following variable downlink time intervals according to an interference reduction scheme for obtaining time intervals with a guaranteed reduced size if interference from another base station is present.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for providing a more flexible configuration of SRS transmission. This is achieved by dynamically triggering a mobile terminal to transmit SRS. Thus, embodiments of the invention allow dynamically trigged SRS in any uplink subframe, even without necessarily reserving resources semi-statically on cell level. This is done by signaling to the terminal whether the mobile terminal should leave the predefined uplink symbol empty for sounding reference signals or use it for data transmission. In case a terminal leaves the last symbol empty for sounding reference signals, there are two possibilities, either the UE shall transmit one or several reference signals from one or several antennas, or the terminal shall leave the last symbol blank since another terminal may be using the resource for sounding. Accordingly, in a specific embodiment, there are at least three different messages that can be conveyed to the terminal: use the predefined uplink symbol for data, leave it blank or use it for sounding reference signals.

Abstract: Methods and user equipment are provided for activation of downlink component carriers. Even though configured to monitor multiple component carriers, a user equipment unit does not start to monitor them immediately, but instead monitors only one or a few carriers initially. Once a downlink scheduling assignment is received, the user equipment unit will then monitor additional component carriers. After one or more subframes where the user equipment unit is not scheduled, the user equipment unit returns to its original state where it monitors one or a few carriers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements in a wireless communication system that enable the use of multi-codeword transmission and ACK/NACK compression with low performance loss. It also enables the use of advanced receivers of reasonable complexity. This is achieved by a solution based on the even distribution of the symbols of separately coded blocks of information bits over the available physical resources before transmission. Each physical resource will thus carry a mixture of symbols from all blocks of information bits, which results in a more similar channel quality for the blocks of information bits. A compressed ACK/NACK message corresponding to the blocks of information bits will thus be more accurate and the performance loss due to the ACK/NACK compression can be reduced.

Abstract: A method performed in a wireless network includes receiving signals within a downlink frequency domain to enable channel estimation and measuring two or more signals only for two or more frequency bands of the downlink frequency domain that correspond to two or more uplink frequency bands associated with a scheduling grant or channel allocation that correspond to physical uplink channel frequency bands. The method also includes calculating path loss values for each of the frequency bands and calculating a total power based on the path loss values corresponding to the frequency bands. The method further includes determining a power allocation per frequency band based on the calculated total power to be applied to an uplink transmission and allocating the total power.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for generating, transmitting, and processing error control information in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The error control information is designed so that the probability of a NACK-to-ACK error in transmission is lower than the probability for an ACK-to-NACK error. Multiple ACK/NACK bits are transmitted along with one or more side information bits that indicate the relative quantities of ACK values and NACK values among the ACK/NACK bits. In an exemplary method for generating error control information in a communication device, a plurality of ACK/NACK bits indicating whether corresponding transport blocks were successfully received are generated. One or more side information bits are formed as a function of the ACK/NACK bits, the side information bits indicating the relative quantities of ACK values and NACK values among the ACK/NACK bits, and transmitted along with the ACK/NACK bits to the remote communication node.
