Abstract: A communications connector has a jack housing and a pair of plug interface contacts. The plug interface contacts each have an insulation displacement contact end and a plug interface end. The plug interface end and the insulation displacement contact end each have a broad face and, the broad face of the plug interface end and the insulation displacement contact of each plug interface end contact are parallel to each other. Additionally, the broad faces of each contact also being parallel to each other.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are various communications systems allowing for multiple contacts points between plug contacts in a communications plug and plug interface contacts (PICs) in a communications jack. In some disclosed implementations, a communications plug including a first and a second plug contact mated with a communications jack having a first and a second plug PIC may form a plurality of plug/jack interfaces. The plug/jack interfaces may form multiple current paths between the communications plug and the communications jack. When a signal propagates between the communications plug and the communications jack, it may be split in the communications plug between a first current path and a second current path, and recombined in the communications jack after traveling through the plurality of plug/jack interfaces.

Abstract: A strain relief system for a cable inserted within has a main housing with an opening and a series of ramp features and a series of serrations on an interior surface. The system also has a rotating collar with an opening in line with the opening of the main housing. The rotating collar having a series of follower features configured to be inserted into the opening of the main housing such that when the roating collar is rotated relative to the main housing, the follower features engage the ramp features to compress the cable inserted with the strain relief system. The rotating collar also having at least one ratcheting tab configured to engage the series of serrations of the main housing such has to provide a ratcheting function between the rotating collar and the outer housing.

Abstract: A high performance plug has a housing, eight contacts contained within the font of the housing, and a termination block that is symmetric about its axis. In one embodiment, the termination block has contact interfaces configure to electrically engage the plug contacts and arranged such that the contact interfaces which are connected to plug contacts 1-8, become connected to plug contacts 8-1 when the termination block is rotated 180 degrees.
