Abstract: A wakeup signal (WUS) group that may be divided into WUS sub-groups, criteria or metrics for dividing the WUS group into a set of WUS sub-groups, and signaling or messaging to support the division of the WUS group into the set of WUS sub-groups are provided. For example, a set of UEs may be divided into WUS sub-groups based at least in part on respective frequencies of occurrence of paging occasions for the set of UEs (e.g., based at least in part on traffic type, observations regarding past paging occasions, predictions regarding future paging occasions, and/or the like) and/or based at least in part on other considerations. Furthermore, some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide for the mapping of network device-level WUS sub-groups (e.g., supported by a network device such as an MME) to base station-level WUS sub-groups (e.g., supported by a base station).

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a method of operating a user equipment for wireless communication with a network. In some aspects, the UE establishes a connection to a network and obtains a control plane message from the network. The control plane message may include one or more types of policy information if a size of the one or more types of policy information is less than or equal to a maximum payload size of the control plane message, or information indicating at least a network location from where the one or more types of policy information may be obtained by the UE over a user plane if the size of the one or more types of policy information is greater than the maximum payload size of the control plane message, or a combination thereof. A user equipment (UE) configured as a drone-coupled wireless device may be configured to transmit a message indicating information relating to the drone-coupled wireless device (e.g., aerial state, non-aerial state, airborne status, drone capability, quality of service (QoS) requirements of a drone service) to a base station. The message may also carry a session connectivity request, which the base station may use to determine that the UE is a drone-coupled wireless device, establish a bearer appropriate for a subscription service of the UE (e.g., as indicated by the drone capability), and apply appropriate protocols for the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems may support a determination of user equipment (UE) capabilities, such as a category or a coverage level for broadcast or multicast content. In some cases, a radio interface may be configured to account for an indicated capability of a target UE. For example, a base station may receive an indication of a capability of a particular targeted UE. The capability of the targeted UE may be specified by a service provider to deliver multicast or broadcast content, and subsequently associated with a radio interface between the base station and the target UE. The radio interface may then be configured based on the indicated capability of the target UE, for example, by configuring a transport block size or bandwidth. The base station may then transmit broadcast or multicast content to the UE using the configured radio interface.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to mechanisms for interworking between legacy and next generation radio access technologies (RATs) in a communication network. In some examples, a handover from a next generation access network to a legacy access network may be performed via a next generation core network and a legacy core network. A handover request received at a next generation core network serving node may include an identifier of a target cell within the legacy access network. The next generation core network serving node may identify a legacy core network serving node to which the handover may be forwarded based on the target cell identifier. Packet data units may then be routed over the legacy access network and the next generation core network by mapping data flows in the next generation core network to packet data connections in the legacy access network.
