    摘要： A stabilizing element in a stabilized material particle structure, particularly an earthen embankment, wherein the material stabilizing elements that are inextensible (material with a higher modulus of elasticity than that of the surrounding particles) in composition nature but made more extensible because of its configuration. This extensibility gives the stabilizing elements the ability to mobilize more of the material shear resistance and adapt to current design standards under extensible type elements. The configuration also enhances the frictional engagement with the adjacent particles. The soil stabilizing elements are attached to facing elements and project into the compacted fill behind the facing. In some structures there may not be a facing element. Additionally, a material coating for metallic stabilizing elements that gives the elements improved corrosion protection, additional service life and/or expands the electrochemical environment in which they can be used

    摘要： An apparatus and method for washing a plurality of cored lettuce heads as they are harvested in the field is disclosed. The apparatus incorporates a multi-segment hinged conveyer forming a loop, at least one support platform having an opening, at least one lettuce head guide connected to the support platform and an aqueous solution spraying system. Workers harvest lettuce heads, core the lettuce heads and then place them on the lettuce head guides which are moving along the conveyer. The lettuce heads are conveyed to an aqueous solution spraying system which washes the cored areas of the lettuce heads. The lettuce heads are then removed from the conveyer into a produce bin.

    摘要： An apparatus for cutting and removing the cores of produce such as fruit or leafy vegetables, particularly cabbage or lettuce, prior to the processing of the vegetable. The apparatus has a coring tube, a shaft, and a chisel, where the coring tube is attached to the distal end of the shaft, and the proximal end of the shaft is inserted into the pneumatic chisel. The coring tube has a cylindrical coring blade at its distal end, which is inserted into the fruit or vegetable to be cored using a rapid linear and/or rotational oscillation motion provided by an electric or pneumatic driver. Cut portions of the fruit or vegetable can be removed from the proximal end of the coring tube.

    摘要： A multi-threshold integrated circuit (IC) with reduced subthreshold leakage and method of reducing leakage. Selectable supply switching devices (NFETs and/or PFETS) between a logic circuit and supply connections (Vdd and Ground) for the circuit have higher thresholds than normal circuit devices. Some devices may have thresholds lowered when the supply switching devices are on. Header/footer devices with further higher threshold voltages and widths may be used to further increase off resistance and maintain/reduce on resistance. Alternatively, high threshold devices may be stacked to further reduce leakage to a point achieved for an even higher threshold. Intermediate supply connects at the devices may have decoupling capacitance and devices may be tapered for optimum stack height and an optimum taper ratio to minimize circuit leakage and circuit delay.
