摘要: The present invention features a diagnostic method for assessing intermittent failures which occur in the components and systems of material handling vehicles. The material handling vehicle of this invention uses an on-board microprocessor and display to allow an operator to determine whether any intermittency is present in the internal systems. The microprocessor is programmed to analyze each system during normal vehicular operation. The program is divided into two vehicular modes, "normal operating" and "program". During the normal operating mode, the vehicle operator is warned of a problem by different audible tones and patterns. A fault code scrolls across the vehicle display screen, indicating the nature of the failure. The program mode can then be entered to assess just where the problem is located. The program mode is divided into three additional modes: "maintenance mode", "configure mode" and "learn mode". The vehicle is selected for maintenance diagnostics during the program mode, and then switched back to the normal operating mode, where the intermittent failures can be diagnosed. The maintenance mode is divided into three diagnostic surveys: output controls, digital input measurements for analyzing switches and encoders, and analog input measurements for testing voltages and potentiometers. Each system in the vehicle can be analyzed by selecting the proper maintenance code.

摘要: An electrode wiring harness for an electromagnetic flowmeter which includes a non-magnetic metal spool having an insulating liner to define a flow conduit for the fluid to be metered, a pair of electrodes being mounted on the spool at diametrically-opposed positions along a transverse axis which is normal to the axis of the electromagnet assembly. The assembly is excited by a pulsatory wave to establish a magnetic field in the conduit that is intercepted by the fluid to induce a signal in the electrodes as a function of flow rate. The harness is constituted by a printed circuit board connected to the electrodes and disposed in a plane parallel to the electrode axis. The board has a conductive pattern thereon providing wiring from the electrodes to an external converter, the pattern including a loop coaxial with the electromagnet axis, whereby voltages induced therein by the magnetic field are balanced out.

摘要: An apparatus for injection-molding an insulating liner onto the surface of a metal spool to be included in an electromagnetic flowmeter in which the fluid to be metered is conducted through the lined spool. The spool is composed of a cylindrical body having end flanges and a pair of diametrically-opposed circular bosses disposed midway between the flanges to receive the meter electrodes. To carry out injection molding, the spool is supported within a mold which defines a liner cavity conforming to the inner surface of the cylindrical body and to the faces of the end flanges, the liner cavity communicating with cavities conforming to the inner surface of the electrode bosses. The molding material is injected into a sprue in the mold which runs along the longitudinal axis of the spool toward the hub of a runner extending radially toward an axisymmetric ring gate opening into the liner cavity at a point adjacent the boss cavities. The molding material passing through the ring gate then flows in opposite directions in the liner cavity to evenly fill this cavity as well as the boss cavities without creating weld lines therein.

摘要: An ink jet printer includes a print head means which generates two parallel rows of jet drop streams. Charge electrodes are mounted on a pair of charge electrode plates which are movable into and out of drop charging positions. A pair of catchers each define a drop catching surface and a drop ingesting slot along the lower edge of the drop catching surface. Each of the catchers is generally pivotally mounted for rotation about an axis parallel to the rows of jet drop streams. The catchers may be pivoted from a drop catching position, in which the drop catching surfaces are substantially parallel, to a full catch position in which drop catching surfaces are inclined to face upward and intercept the jet drop streams. In the full catch position, the drop ingesting slots are positioned closely together. A linkage arrangement is provided for pivoting the catchers from the full catch position to the drop catch position after start up of the print head means. The linkage arrangement also moves the charge electrode plates into the drop charging positions after the catchers are pivoted sufficiently to apply a drop deflecting potential to thereto, but while the drop catching surfaces intercept the jet drop streams.

摘要: A lithographic ink and moisture control system is provided for maintaining copy quality over a wide range of operating and environmental conditions without special operator assistance. The control system, among other things, adjusts the ink and moisture feed rates to compensate for predicted changes in master conditions associated with the absorption of moisture by the master during the course of a copy run.

摘要: Data cells traversing an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) network (10) are passively monitored by probes at two spaced points (12,14). A filtering characteristic is applied to select cells comparatively infrequently, and timestamps or sequence numbers (or both) for the cells selected at each point are forwarded to a correlator (28). The correlator identifies similarities in the temporal patterns of intervals between timestamps received from each probe, and uses these similarities to identify and correlate timestamps relating to occurrence of the same cell at the two monitored points. The correlated timestamps are used to determine parameters indicative of the performance of the network, such as one-way delay, variation in that delay, and rate of cell loss.
