The present disclosure can reduces a peak-to-average power ration (PAPR) by performing time domain cyclic filtering. Further, a data rate or coverage can be improved by selectively transmitting transmission waveforms through cyclic prefix (CP)-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or discrete Fourier transform-spread-OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM).

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate after 4G communication systems such as LTE. A method according to an embodiment of the present invention is a communication method in a base station which communicates via filter bank-based multicarrier signals. The method may comprise the steps of: performing communication by allocating filters having non-orthogonality with respect to a first terminal positioned within a cell; selecting a filter set from among two or more filter sets having orthogonality with respect to a second terminal positioned at the edge of the cell; and performing communication by allocating, to the second terminal, at least one filter among filters included in the selected filter set.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data transfer rate following a 4G communication system such as LTE. To accomplish the objective mentioned above, a method for transmitting and receiving a signal at a terminal in the mobile communication system according to one embodiment of the present application comprises the steps of: receiving, from a base station, a reference signal generated on the basis of a first filter; determining channel information on the basis of the received reference signal; transmitting the determined channel information to the base station; receiving, from the base station, information related to a second filter determined on the basis of the channel information; and receiving, from the base station, a data signal on the basis of the second filter. According to an embodiment of the present application, it is possible to maximize the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) while minimizing spectral interference in the event of multiuser connection, by using a prototype filter application method and system structure.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting symbols for use in an FBMC wireless communication system are provided. The FBMC symbol transmission method includes determining a truncation point of a first FBMC symbol overlapping a transient transmission duration based on an energy distribution characteristic of a first filter applied to the first FBMC symbol, wherein the first FMBC symbol is to be transmitted in a non-transient transmission duration, truncating the first FBMC symbol at the truncation point in the transient transmission duration, changing an energy characteristic of a second filter, filtering the first FBMC symbol using the second filter, filtering FBMC symbols positioned within the non-transient transmission duration based on a non-transient transmission duration characteristic; and transmitting the filtered FBMC symbols at a corresponding transmission timing.

A transmitter includes a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a signal, and a controller configured to cause the transceiver to transmit an indicator for a Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) level to a receiver based on a channel state, and transmit a signal applied with the MCS level to the receiver.
