摘要： Systems, kits, and methods for establishing vascular access are described. A system typically includes a radially expandable sleeve, a dilator, and a guidewire. The methods comprise positioning the guidewire through an initial tissue tract, passing the radially expandable sleeve over the guidewire through the tissue tract to a target blood vessel, and thereafter passing the dilator over the guidewire and through the radially expandable sleeve to effect radial expansion of the sleeve. Use of the sleeve reduces the risk of injuring tissue surrounding the tissue tract by lessening the axial forces imparted to the tissue. Kits comprise at least the radially expandable sleeve together with instructions for use.

摘要： A stator wire-cutting machine for cutting and removing the wires from a pre-positioned electric motor stator, including a planar support for substantial alignment with the axis of the stator, a cutter disc and a kick-out disc, both rotatably mounted on the support, a cutting blade rotatably mounted on the cutter disc and a pointed puller bar similarly mounted on the kick-out disc, a pair of adjustable guides for aligning the cutting blade and the puller bar with the stator wires, springs for biasing the blade and puller against the guides, and an adjustable lever arm with connecting linkage for causing counter-rotation of the two discs. The cutting blade and the puller bar are rotatable with respect to the cutter disc and kick-out disc, respectively, at predetermined points during the counter-rotation of the discs. The positions of both discs can be adjusted within the support, for accommodating various sizes of stators.

摘要： A method and system may make iced beverages containing flavored ice cubes made from a flavored beverage. The method and system may include dynamically altering a freeze-cycle of an ice maker to account for various parameters, such as freezer temperature. When freezer temperature rises above a set-point temperature, the freeze-cycle may be stopped, and only resumed once the freezer temperature returns to back below the set-point temperature. The freeze-cycle may be dynamically lengthened by the amount of time that the freezer temperature remains above the set-point temperature. The set-point temperature may be substantially below the freezing point of the beverage, which in turn may be below the freezing point of water, to ensure that the beverage is frozen into ice cubes at the completion of the freeze-cycle. In one embodiment, the flavored beverage may have a non-clear color, such as coffee, and the flavored ice cubes are coffee ice cubes.

摘要： An electronic method and device are provided to facilitate the capture of Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) data information present on negotiable instruments. As an input device, a MICR reader capable of reading magnetic ink character recognition data is provided. As an output channel, an audio jack adapted to be plugged into an audio port of a mobile phone is provided. The device is attached to an audio port of a mobile phone. A negotiable instrument is swiped through the MICR reader. If the amount of the negotiable instrument is not included in the MICR data, the amount of the negotiable instrument is entered into the mobile phone. The MICR data and amount of the negotiable instrument are transmitted to create an electronic instrument.
