摘要： An exemplary method and system is disclosed that facilitate the integration of multiplexed single-cell impedance cytometry in a high throughput format, which can be deployed upstream from microfluidic sample preparation and/or downstream to microfluidic cell separation. In exemplary method and system may employ impedance-based quantification of cell electrophysiology on the same microfluidic chip (i.e., “on-chip”) to provide distinguishing phenotypic information on the sample, without the need for additional sample handling, preparation or dilution steps as would be needed for other flow cytometry techniques.

摘要： Methods and systems for maintaining a machine using an in-situ vehicle (IV) is provided. The IV may be used with a machine that includes a work-piece and an interference body positioned proximate a surface of the work-piece such that a relatively small gap extends between the work-piece and the interference body. The method includes transporting the IV from external to the machine into the gap, positioning the IV in the gap such that at least a portion of the IV circumscribes a work area of the work-piece, locking the IV between the work-piece and the interference body, and manipulating a tool coupled to the IV from external to the machine, the tool configured to transfer a component between the work-piece and a storage cassette on the IV.

摘要： An audio/video reproducing apparatus is connectable to a communications network for selectively reproducing items of audio/video material from a recording medium in response to a request received via the communications network. The audio/video reproducing apparatus may comprise a control processor operable in use to receive data representing the request for the audio/video material item via the communications network. A reproducing processor is operable in response to signals identifying the audio/video material items from the control processor to reproduce the audio/video material items. The data identifying the audio/video material items includes meta data indicative of the audio/video material items. The meta data may be one of UMID, tape ID and time codes, and a Unique Material Identifier the material items. To facilitate the identification and selection of the audio and/or video material, an audio and/or video processing apparatus is provided for processing audio and/or video signals representing sound and/or images. The processing apparatus comprises an activity detector operable to generate an activity signal indicative of an amount of activity within the sound/images represented by the audio/video signal, and a meta data generator coupled to the activity detector which is operable to generate sample images at temporal positions within the audio/video signal, which temporal positions are determined from the activity signal. The processing apparatus thereby provides a facility for automatically generating meta data from received audio/video signals. The meta data can be used to select the audio/video material.

摘要： An audio and/or video generation apparatus comprises a recording processor which is operable to record audio and/or video signals on a recording medium, a meta data generation processor which is operable to generate meta data identifying the content of the audio/video signals, and a communications processor which arranged to communicate the meta data separately from the recording medium.Furthermore, the meta data generation processor may be operable to generate at least one sample image which is representative of a video image from the recorded video signals, and to associate the sample image with an address on the recording medium at which the video image is recorded. The video and/or audio generation apparatus provides an advantage in generating and utilising meta data to facilitate the generation of audio/video productions. Accordingly, a system for generating an audio and/or video production comprises an acquisition processor operable in use to receive instructions from a user which instructions are representative of a list of content items for the audio and/or video production. The audio and/or video generation apparatus is arranged in use to receive information representative of the list of content items, and to generate audio and/or video signals in accordance with the content items on the list. An ingestion processor may be provided to receive the list of content items, and the audio and/or video signals and to form the audio and/or video production by associating the audio and/or video signals with the list of content items.

摘要： Method and apparatus for digital calibration of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). One example relates to calibrating an analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion system having an N-bit resolution. The A/D conversion system includes an ADC that generates an output having N most significant bits (MSBs) and M least significant bits (LSBs) (i.e., an N+M bit resolution). An offset calibration circuit is configured to determine an offset in the ADC and to compensate the N+M bit output using the offset to provide an N+M bit offset corrected output. A gain calibration circuit is configured to determine a gain correction factor for the ADC and to compensate the N+M bit offset corrected output using the gain correction factor to provide an N bit offset and gain corrected output.

The controller is coupled to an array of memory cell. A portion of the array of memory cells is coupled for read/write communication with the controller, and another portion of the array of memory cells is not coupled for read/write communication with the controller. The portion of the array of memory cells is configurable at an operational frequency of the integrated circuit for dynamic reconfiguration of the function block logic of the integrated circuit.

摘要： A video information retrieval system comprising a client system having a request issuer for issuing a search request in respect of desired video material; and a video accessor for accessing video material on the basis of a uniform resource locator (URL) and a SMPTE unique material identifier (UMID). The retrieval system also comprising a server system having access to one or more databases containing metadata information relating to a plurality of video material items, a UMID associated with each video material item and at least one URL associated with each UMID. A receiver is provided for receiving a search request from the client system and detecting one or more video material items for which metadata information stored in at least one of the database(s) substantially corresponds to the search request. An information supplier supplies the metadata information, the URL and the UMID relating to the one or more detected video material items to the client system. The server system has at least one video repository having: a video storage arrangement storing video material and associated UMID data. The metadata, the URL and the UMID are communicated between the server and the client using a markup language having descriptors for data content.
