摘要: The absolute angle calculation apparatus includes a calculation circuit calculating an absolute angular position based on a spatially modulated component in a photoelectrically-converted signal string. The calculation circuit includes a photoelectrically-converted signal string storage storing previous and current photoelectrically-converted signal strings obtained, for interpolating the absolute angular position, within a set time shorter than an absolute angle calculation time required to calculate the absolute angular position; a correlation detection circuit detecting a correlation between the previous and current photoelectrically-converted signal strings in the photoelectrically-converted signal string storage and detecting a shift amount therebetween; and an interpolation calculation circuit interpolating an inter-pattern absolute angular position equivalent value based on the shift amount obtained by the current measurement. The calculation circuit calculates an interpolated angle based on the shift amount and the absolute angular position equivalent value, adds the calculated interpolated angle obtained at the current measurement to the absolute angular position obtained at the previous measurement to calculate a current absolute angular position.

摘要: An OCT probe has a sheath to be inserted into a subject; and an optical system within the sheath, for changing the direction of light which propagates from a light source through an optical fiber to irradiate the light onto the subject through a transparent portion of the sheath, and for reflecting the light beam, which is reflected by the subject, to guide the light into the optical fiber. A light output surface, for causing the light to be output from the reflecting surface in a direction obliquely inclined with respect to the inner surface of the sheath, and a reflected light sheath entrance preventing portion, for preventing light reflected by the inner surface of the sheath from entering the optical fiber, are provided in the optical system. The reflected light sheath entrance preventing portion may be formed by providing a cut planar surface portion on the lens.

摘要: A water treatment system to be installed in a tanker or other cargo ship for destruction of aquatic organisms and microorganisms that may be contained in the water, usually seawater, being pumped into the ship's ballast tank or tanks. Included is a ballast pump having an intake conduit for drawing water from the sea, and a delivery conduit for delivering the water under pressure to the ballast tank. The delivery conduit has mounted therein a slitted or otherwise open-worked screen for mechanically killing the aquatic lifeforms contained in the water by shearing action. For chemical treatment, on the other hand, part of the water being delivered by the ballast pump is bypassed into an ozone impregnator thereby to be impregnated with ozone from an ozonizer. A bypass pump repressurizes the ozone-impregnated water for returning the same into the delivery conduit.

摘要: An optical pickup device is provided which includes a first diffraction grating (45) that splits a light beam emitted from a light-emitting/-detecting element (31) into a zero-order light beam and positive and negative first-order light beams, a second diffraction grating (46) that diffracts return light from an optical disk (2) for traveling along a light path separate from that of the outgoing light, and a third diffraction grating (47) that corrects the deviation of the light path by diffracting the positive first-order light beam diffracted by the second diffraction grating (46). The light-emitting/-detecting element (31) provides a focusing error signal FE by detecting the negative first-order light beam, and a tracking error signal by detecting return portions of the positive and negative first-order light beams from the first diffraction grating (45).
