摘要: A method and apparatus for controlling knock level in an internal combustion engine having knock induced vibrations and valve noises. Engine knock is decided when the knock induced vibration level exceeds at least one of the valve noise level and a limiting level. A basic value for the timing of ignition of the engine is calculated based upon engine operating parameters. The basic value is modified according to the result of the engine knock decision in a manner to operate the engine close to its knock level.

摘要: An engine control system monitors engine operation by periodically sampling engine operating parameters and records variation patterns of the engine operating parameters as engine operation pattern data whenever any of a number of preselected specific engine operating conditions occur, such as engine stalling, acceleration, or deceleration. The control system normally controls the engine according to conventional engine control procedures and adjusts the control procedures in response to preselected engine operating conditions in accordance with a projected engine operation pattern derived from prerecorded engine operation pattern data and the detected specific engine operating condition. The engine operation pattern data may be repeatedly updated and/or accumulated during engine operation and may be held in a memory of the control system even after the engine is turned off. The engine operating parameters may include the operation state of one or more vehicle components influencing engine operation, such as an air conditioner with a compressor driver by the engine and so acting as an additional load on the engine, or a transmission, the gear position of which can change engine operation significantly.

摘要: A method of confirming that a memory other than a main memory is incorporated into a computer system, e.g., a microcomputer via a bus comprising the steps of predefining at least one bit line of a parallel bus provided between a receptacle for the memory device and a central processing unit (CPU) so as to impose a logical value, i.e., a "0" or a "1", on the data bus line, that value being the opposite of the predetermined logical value of data stored in a predetermined address of the memory device; operating the CPU to attempt to access the predetermined address of the memory device to read the data stored in the predetermined address of the memory device; and checking to see whether the data read in the central processing unit via the data bus line indicates a value or equal to the predefined value, thus determining that the memory device has or has not been incorporated into the computer. In another method, the bit line is connected via a resistor to an output line. The CPU then imposes a first logical value, and then a second logical value opposite to the first logical value on the bit line, while at the same time trying to access the memory device. If the CPU reads in both cases the value imposed on the bit line by the output line, then the CPU determines that there is no memory device incorporated in the computer.

摘要: Operational amplifier circuitry is provided which comprises an operational amplifier having a first input port and a second input port, and a compensating circuit for making a voltage difference between the first and the second input ports of the operational amplifier substantially equal to the offset voltage of the amplifier, compensating the bias currents of the operational amplifier. The compensating circuit may include a series of a first resistor and a second resistor connected between the first and the second input ports of the amplifier. The node connecting the first and the second resistors is coupled to a predetermined voltage, the resistances of the first and the second resistors being selected so that a voltage difference between the first and the second input ports of the amplifier is substantially equal to the offset voltage of the operational amplifier. A resistor may be connected between the first and the second input ports of the amplifier instead of the series of the first and the second resistors.

摘要: An operation recorder to record a malfunction of a safety device or to record a proper function of the safety device comprises an AND-output gate. The AND-output gate is connected at its input side with the outputs of first and second monostable-multivibrators and at its output side to a memory. The first monostable-multivibrator normally generates a logical one output and a logical zero output signal, when it is triggered by the output of a collision sensor, for 10 to 100 milliseconds. The second monostable-multivibrator normally generates a logical zero output signal and a logical one output signal, when a safety device is actuated, for relatively shorter time than 10 to 100 milliseconds. The AND-output gate supplies a logical one output to the memory to generate the same when it receives logical one input signals.

摘要: Provided is an automatic wire threader for a wire electric discharge machining apparatus including a jet nozzle (20). The jet nozzle includes a first finger and a second finger (21, 22) that are movable between their open positions where a jet nozzle hole (28) is undefined and their closed positions where the jet nozzle hole is defined. The jet nozzle further includes a compression coil spring (60) for urging the first finger and the second finger to their open positions. A moving device moves the jet nozzle from the retracted position to the operational position, so as to bring the first finger and the second finger in contact with a flush nozzle, thereby moving the first finger and the second finger against the a compression coil spring toward their closed positions.
