摘要: A method of controlling an engine and a transmission of a vehicle includes: determining, by a controller, whether the engine is restarted after releasing the vehicle's SSC (Start & Stop coasting) or whether the vehicle is accelerating during NCC (Neutral Coasting control), determining an RPM and gear stage of the transmission if it is determined that the engine is restarted after releasing the vehicle's SSC or the vehicle is accelerating during NCC, determining a mild hybrid starter and generator (MHSG) target RPM and an MHSG target RPM gradient of the vehicle, performing, by the controller, MHSG RPM control of the vehicle to follow the MHSG target RPM and the MHSG target RPM gradient, determining whether the MHSG RPM slips compared to the MHSG target RPM, and performing proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control to follow the MHSG target RPM if the MHSG RPM slips compared to the MHSG target RPM.

摘要: A computer-implemented platform may comprise hardware and software configured to manage an engine using knock intensity data. Knock intensities from a plurality of combustion cycles may be used to estimate a statistical distribution of knock intensities. The distribution of knock intensities may be used to determine a Descriptive Statistic, which may represent a state of tune of the engine. A calculated Descriptive Statistic may be compared to a desired Descriptive Statistic (e.g., that is representative of operation during a desired tune state of the engine). A deviation between the calculated and desired knock intensity distributions (e.g., between the calculated DS and desired DS) may be used to adjust a control parameter of the engine. Adjustment may be engine-wide. Adjustment may be cylinder-by-cylinder.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for reducing blackening of an oxygen sensor due to voltage excursions into an over-potential region. Before transitioning the sensor from a lower voltage to an upper voltage during variable voltage operation, an operating temperature of the sensor is reduced via adjustments to a sensor heater setting. The reduction in temperature increases the range of temperatures available to the sensor before the over-potential region is entered.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for aging a new plastic fuel tank in a vehicle. In one example, during a plug-in event to recharge a battery of the vehicle, the fuel tank is isolated and the fuel pump is actuated to agitate fuel within the tank and increase fuel vapors until the plastic fuel tank becomes aged to a predetermined degree by fuel vapors generated therein. In this manner, the fuel tank is aged more rapidly, resulting in more accurate fuel level readings and less noise and vibration.

摘要: A method of operating an engine with dual fuel injection capabilities to enable fuel rail over-pressure control is shown. The method comprises operating an engine cylinder with only port injection, while selectively activating and deactivating a direct injector in response to an estimated minimum fuel injection mass from the direct injector. Direct fuel injection is actuated until the minimum fuel mass injected by the direct injector has reached a lower threshold that is above an NVH limit of the engine.
