    摘要: An image forming apparatus for forming an image on papers in response to the image information of an original on an original table is provided with a reading unit for scanning the original, and also with x- and y-direction moving mechanisms for moving the reading unit two-dimensionally at the time of scanning operation. The x- and y-direction moving mechanisms are provided with first and second carriages for holding and moving the reading unit in x- and y-directions. X- and y-direction display lines are put down on the first and second carriages, respectively. When the first and second carriages are moved, therefore, their display lines display on the original table an image forming area which the reading unit can read.

    摘要: An optical system drive device for an image formation apparatus has a drive mechanism for reciprocally driving an exposure unit, and a pulse motor for supplying pulses to the drive mechanism. The pulses to be supplied to the pulse motor are stored in advance in a ROM. In accordance with either document size or required equal size, reduced scale or enlarged copying mode, a microprocessor reads out a predetermined control pulse from the ROM and applies it to the pulse motor, thereby controlling acceleration, constant velocity drive and deceleration of the pulse motor.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a sheet by transferring a color medium from a transfer medium to the sheet in a transfer position in accordance with an image pattern comprises a recording head, a platen, and a pair of pressure rollers for pressing the sheet against the platen. A pair of separating rollers for separating the transfer medium from the sheet are arranged between the transfer position and their corresponding pressure rollers. The platen is coupled to a conveyance control mechanisms for reciprocating the sheet in the transfer position. In operation, the sheet is fed in the forward direction, the color medium of the transfer medium is transferred to the sheet in the transfer position, and then the transfer medium and the sheet are separated by the one separating roller. After the color medium is transferred to the trailing end portion of the sheet, the sheet is fed in the backward direction, and the transfer medium and the trailing end portion of the sheet are separated by the other separating roller.

It is preferable that recessed parts which are formed on a surface of the diamond sintered body 80 are continuously provided in an outer circumferential part of the dicing blade 26 along a circumferential direction.

    摘要: A polishing method and a polishing apparatus capable of polishing a surface of a substrate made of SiC or diamond extremely smoothly and efficiently without causing subsurface damage are provided. A polishing platen 1 can rotate around a rotating shaft 4, and is made of quartz having high transparency to ultraviolet radiation. A large number of grooves 11 are arranged on a front surface of the polishing platen 1 in a lattice form, and each of the grooves 11 is filled with solid photocatalytic particles 20 (CeO2). The polishing platen 1 is relatively rubbed against a to-be-polished surface 30A of a substrate 30 made of silicon carbide (SiC) or diamond (C) while pressing the polishing platen 1 to the to-be-polished surface 30A of the substrate 30 with a very high pressure, thereby the to-be-polished surface 30A is oxidized by the solid photocatalytic particles 20 to perform chemical polishing. The oxidation of the to-be-polished surface 30A is promoted by applying ultraviolet radiation from an ultraviolet source lamp 2, and polishing is promoted by heating by an infrared source lamp 3.
