Abstract: A device associated with a network may provide a subscription request that requests data associated with the network and user equipment connected to the network. The device may receive, based on the subscription request, network congestion data associated with the network, reachability data associated with the user equipment, and location data associated with the user equipment. The device may determine a group of the user equipment based on the network congestion data, the reachability data, and the location data. The device may determine timing for providing firmware to the group based on capabilities of the user equipment in the group. The device may provide segments of the firmware to the network to cause the network to provide the segments of the firmware to the group based on the timing for providing the firmware to the group.

Abstract: A network device may provide, to a content server device, an upload policy for uploading data, and may receive a notification indicating that the user device is attached to a network associated with a network identifier. The network device may receive a request identifying data to be uploaded by a user device to the content server device, and may determine a time window, a data size, and the network identifier associated with the upload policy and the network. The network device may determine whether the request complies with the time window, the data size, and the network identifier, and may determine whether a quantity of tokens associated with the network identifier is zero. The network device may provide, to the user device, a response indicating approval of the data to be uploaded, and may receive an indication that uploading the data is complete.

Abstract: Systems described herein provide techniques for establishing and modifying user plane communications sessions between Long-Term Evolution (“LTE”) User Equipment (“UE”) devices, connected to LTE base stations, and a Fifth Generation (“5G”) core network. An LTE-5G Interworking function (“LTE-5G IWF”) may logically generate a virtual 5G UE and/or 5G base station, map a LTE UE to the virtual 5G UE, and cause the establishment of a Protocol Data Unit (“PDU”) Session, at the 5G core network, with the virtual 5G UE. The LTE-5G IWF may provide PDU Session information to the LTE UE and base station to facilitate the establishment of user plane communications (e.g., via a tunnel) between the LTE UE and the 5G core network. The LTE-5G IWF may also receive modification parameters, such as Quality of Service (“QoS”) parameters, and provide instructions to the 5G core and/or to the LTE UE to handle traffic according to such parameters.

Abstract: A device obtains a data structure from a computing device, and divides the data structure into data segments. The device obtains a list of user devices from the computing device and obtains, from one or more network devices, a respective location and a respective reachability of each user device. The device determines, based on the respective location of each user device, a set of user devices connected to a base station. The device determines a communication capability of the base station, and determines, based on the communication capability, a subset of the set of user devices and one or more sets of the data segments. The device sends, based on the respective reachability of each user device of the subset of user devices, the one or more sets of data segments to the subset of user devices via the base station.

The service may also include selecting one of the sets of allowed network slices based on a mobility pattern of the end device. The service may also translate allowed network slices, current tracking area and registration area information, and expose the translated information to an application function.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide a short data, low latency service using a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) network. A network device receives, in a core network, an attach request from an end device and detect whether a packet size range for data transmissions from the end device is within a configured size threshold. The network device directs, when the packet size is within the configured size threshold, routing of the data transmissions via a control plane function of an edge network to a local instance of an application server in the edge network. The network device directs, when the packet size is over the configured size threshold, routing of the data transmissions via a user plane function of the edge network to a local instance of an application server in the edge network.

Abstract: A device may receive data indicating a required quality of service (QoS), and may receive radio access network (RAN) information associated with a RAN, wherein the RAN information is provided by a centralized unit (CU) of the RAN. The device may provide the RAN information to a multi-access edge computing (MEC) platform, and may receive, from the MEC platform, a QoS request that requests the required QoS. The device may provide the QoS request to the CU, and may receive a QoS response to the QoS request. The device may provide the QoS response to a policy control function (PCF) of a core network, and may receive an indication of approval of the QoS response from the PCF. The device may cause, based on receiving the indication of approval, the required QoS to be implemented by the MEC platform and network devices associated with the core network.

The congestion control service monitors for congestion in a network slice. When congestion is detected, the congestion control service may adjust an allotment of a resource of a network device or the resource of the network slice from end-to-end. When neither of these adjustments can be made, the congestion control service may use a network slice-based access control barring.

An edge network exposure function device may provide the edge network exposure function service. The edge network exposure function service may communicate with a radio access network, a mobile edge computing network, and a main edge network exposure function device to provide radio access network, end device, and control information. The edge network exposure function device may also facilitate handovers of an end device between mobile edge computing networks. The edge network exposure function device may be situated at the network edge and the main network exposure function device may be situated in a core network.
