Abstract: A method may include determining that a user equipment (UE) device is a dual connectivity device capable of communicating via a Fifth Generation (5G) network and a non-5G network. The method may also include receiving, a radio resource control (RRC) connection request, establishing an RRC connection with the UE device and determining whether the first wireless station is a dual connectivity wireless station. The method may further include initiating, in response to determining that the first wireless station is not a dual connectivity wireless station, a handover of a wireless connection to the UE device from the first wireless station to a second wireless station that is a dual connectivity wireless station, or identifying, in response to determining that the first wireless station is a dual connectivity wireless station, a 5G wireless station in the 5G network to act as a serving cell for the UE device.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for assigning user equipment to frequency bands on multiband advanced wireless communication networks. The system may include a multiband controller configured to obtain signal quality indicators from user equipment devices for signals received by the user equipment devices from a first remote radio head for a first frequency band having a maximum frequency greater than 24 GHz and a second remote radio head having a minimum frequency at least 2 GHz greater than the maximum frequency, and in response to the signal quality indicators, issue a command to a user equipment device included in the user equipment devices and operating in the first frequency band to switch to operating in the second frequency band.

Abstract: A wireless network optimizing node receives key performance indicators (KPIs) from a base station of a cell site providing wireless service within a geographic area, wherein the KPIs are associated with wireless communication between beams of an antenna array of the cell site and User Equipment. The node determines a current cell site capacity usage for the cell site based on current wireless network usage parameters received from the cell site and determines a need for an additional antenna array to provide adequate coverage and capacity for the geographic area based on the current cell site capacity usage and the first KPIs. The node determines an optimum location within the geographic area for adding the additional antenna array.

Abstract: A wireless station of a radio access network receives a reselection priority value of a frequency band used when the wireless station is an E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) anchor. The wireless station broadcasts an intra-frequency system information block (SIB) that includes a first Cell Reselection Priority information element (IE) and a first Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE, wherein the first Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE includes the reselection priority value of the frequency band used by the wireless station. The wireless station also broadcast an inter-frequency SIB that includes a second Cell Reselection Priority IE and a second Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE, wherein the second Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE includes another reselection priority value of another frequency band for another EN-DC anchor. Use of additional anchor-cell priorities enable EN-DC-capable end devices to camp on an anchor cell even when a non-anchor cell has a higher conventional priority than the anchor cell.

Abstract: A base station may obtain information associated with a bearer established for a communication session involving a user equipment. The bearer may be associated with a quality of service (QoS) flow of a network slice and the information may include a QoS flow identifier, a QoS configuration identifier associated with a QoS that is to be provided for communications associated with the QoS flow, and a network slice identifier. The base station may determine a scheduling weight for the bearer based on the QoS flow identifier, the QoS configuration identifier, and the network slice identifier. The base station may cause resources to be allocated to the bearer according to the scheduling weight.

Abstract: A network device in a Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) cluster is configured to: receive, from a wireless station, information associated with a User Equipment (UE) device that is wirelessly attached to a network through the wireless station and estimate a first time interval to complete a task for the UE device based on the information. If the first time interval is less than a threshold time interval, the processor is to: signal, through the wireless station, to the UE device to be in a connected state; execute the task; and send a result of the execution, through the wireless station, to the UE device.
