摘要: An electric power steering device includes a steering torque detector for detecting a steering torque in a steering system by detecting relative rotation between an input shaft and an output shaft, an electric motor for generating an auxiliary torque corresponding to a detection signal from the steering torque detector, and a torque transmitting mechanism for transmitting the auxiliary torque from the electric motor to the output shaft. The steering torque detector is composed of a detector body directly attached to the input shaft, and an actuator engaged with the output shaft for activating the detector body. With the steering torque detector thus arranged, an adjustment of the neutral position of the steering torque detector can be performed after the input and output shafts, the steering torque detector, and the torque transmitting mechanism are assembled together to form a single semi-finished steering assembly, and before the semi-finished steering assembly is received in a housing. Since this adjustment is effected on the steering torque detector while the semi-finished steering assembly is standing alone before it is assembled in the housing, the neutral position of the steering torque detector can be obtained with excellent accuracy but through a simple adjustment work.

摘要: An active suspension system and an active suspension control method for a vehicle having a first wheel set and a second wheel set, comprising a power actuator interposed between the vehicle body and each of the wheels; a sensor for detecting turning maneuver of the vehicle; and a control unit for controlling operation of the actuators according to data obtained from the sensor so as to reduce a vertical load acting on the inner wheel of the second wheel set which bears a less vertical load than the first wheel set during the turning maneuver. Thereby, the shifting of the vertical load between the wheels of the first wheel set is reduced with the result that the overall cornering force of the vehicle is maximized because of the saturating property of the maximum cornering force of the tire in relation with the vertical load acting thereon.

摘要: A vehicle steering device in which steering torque is transmitted from a steering wheel to steered wheels via a rack-and-pinion mechanism. The steering device comprises a rack shaft in which a rack is formed, two rack support parts positioned to both sides of a longitudinal direction of the rack shaft relative to the position of a pinion, and an urging part positioned between the two rack support parts. The two rack support parts are positioned near each other so as to support only a back surface of the region where the rack is formed in the rack shaft which is positioned in a steering neutral position, the back surface being supported so as to be capable of sliding in the longitudinal direction. The urging part urges the rack shaft in at least a direction other than towards the rack.

摘要: A purification process for polyhydroxycarboxylic acids which comprises dissolving polyhydroxycarboxylic acid in an water-immiscible phenol or an organic solvent containing said water-immiscible phenol, successively bringing the resulting solution into contact with water which contains an acidic material, separating the organic layer from an aqueous layer, and isolating polyhydroxycarboxylic acid from the organic layer. The process can efficiently remove a catalyst contained in the polyhydroxycarboxylic acid prepared in the presence of the catalyst, does not require polyhydroxycarboxylic acid to be in the form of a solid, and can treat polyhydroxycarboxylic acid in a higher concentration as compared with using chlorinated hydrocarbon as a solvent.
