The holographic mirror comprises a hologram plate including a transparent support member and a photosensitive agent layer formed on the transparent support member and having interference fringes formed therein such that the hologram plate has a function of a concave mirror at a first portion of the hologram plate and another function of a convex mirror at a second portion of the hologram plate on opposite sides of a horizontal center line. A reflection type display apparatus for a vehicle employing a non-regular reflection type hologram or a regular reflection type hologram constituting a concave mirror as a hologram combiner wherein a virtual image of a display unit is reversed into an erect image and compensated for in contraction to improve the discernibility.

摘要: A stop light for a vehicle mounted within the vehicle for flashing in synchronism with a brake comprises a light source arranged within the vehicle. A prism is so arranged as to feed a display light from the light source rearward of the vehicle. Further, the prism is so arranged that a driver can confirm a road surface at a rear location of the vehicle through the prism from a field of view of a back mirror. The prism may be formed into such a configuration that a surface thereof adjacent to the light source scatters a light from the light source. Moreover, the light source may be formed by a red light source.

摘要: A prism is installed at a lower part of the windshield near the dashboard with a first surface of the prism directed toward a viewing point of a driver and a second surface held in contact with the inner side of the windshield. The first or second surface of the prism is made a reflecting surface. The third surface is formed with a dark paint layer. The apex of the prism where the first and second surfaces join is tilted toward the driver seat in such a manner that the second surface becomes a total reflection surface for light from the third surface with respect to the viewing point of a driver. The display image of an indicator installed in the dashboard below the prism is reflected either by the first or second reflecting surface of the prism toward the driver's viewing point. Light from the dark third surface of the prism is totally reflected by the second surface toward the driver to provide a dark background for the display, enhancing the display contrast. The prism, when viewed from outside the windshield, appears transparent thus maintaining a good external view of the windshield.

摘要: A display apparatus for a vehicle of the type wherein a display image of a display device located near a focus of an optical system is projected on a front glass of the vehicle so that a virtual image of the display image may be focused at a position forwardly of the front glass. In the display apparatus, when external light entering the optical system has an intensity higher than a predetermined level, a light intercepting means prevents the external light from being received by the display device, thereby preventing thermal destruction of the display device which may possibly be caused by heat given to the display device by intense external light such as the sunlight which is condensed by the optical system.
