Abstract:
A VVA apparatus includes a control shaft arranged rotatable in accordance with the engine operating conditions, an alteration mechanism for changing a lift amount and an operating angle of an engine valve in accordance with rotation of the control shaft, and a drive mechanism for rotating the control shaft and including an electric motor and a reduction mechanism. The reduction mechanism has a reduction ratio set to be larger when the valve is under small lift-amount and operating-angle control than when the valve is under large lift-amount and operating-angle control.
Abstract:
In a valve operating apparatus, torque is transmitted from an eccentric drive cam attached to a drive shaft through a multinodular-link motion-transmission mechanism including a link arm, a rocker arm, and a link rod to a rockable cam to cause an engine valve to open and close. Also provided is a control cam whose geometric center is displaced from a control shaft. By way of eccentric rotary motion of the control cam, a valve lift of the engine valve is variably controlled. Lubricating oil supplied from an oil passage formed in the drive shaft via a first communicating passage formed in the drive cam into a clearance between the link arm and the drive cam, is forcibly fed via a second communicating passage into a pivotally linked portion between the link arm and the rocker arm by oscillatory pumping action created by eccentric rotary motion of the drive cam.
Abstract:
In an internal combustion engine with two cylinder banks, each cylinder bank having a cylinder head mounting thereon a valve operating device enabling both valve timing and valve lift characteristic to be varied, each valve operating device drives an engine valve through an eccentric cam, a substantially ring-shaped link, a rocker arm, a rod-shaped link, and a rockable cam, by rotation of a drive shaft. A control shaft varies the attitude of the rocker arm via a control cam by rotary motion thereof, in order to change a valve lift characteristic of the engine valve. As viewed in the same axial direction, a lifting direction of the rockable cam relative to a rotational direction of the drive shaft is the same in the two cylinder banks.
Abstract:
In a VVA apparatus for an internal combustion engine wherein the position of contact of a cam face of a VO cam with respect to the top face of a valve lifter is changed in accordance with a change in a rocking fulcrum of a rocker arm to alter the valve lift, the maximum valve lift is obtained in a first rotated position of a control shaft where an axis of a control cam is adjacent to a driving shaft. The minimum valve lift is obtained in a second rotated position of the control shaft where the axis of the control cam is positioned near a first pivotal point of the rocker arm and a crank arm with respect to a first line connecting the axis of the control shaft and the axis of the control cam upon the maximum valve lift.
Abstract:
A variable valve actuation (VVA) apparatus comprises an eccentric rotary (ER) cam fixed to a driving shaft for rotation therewith, a pivotal valve operating (VO) cam, a rocker arm having a first arm and a second arm, a control rod having an eccentric control cam, and a crank arm. The eccentric control cam supports the rocker arm for pivotal motion. The crank arm interconnects the ER cam and the first arm of the rocker arm. A link interconnects the second arm of the rocker arm and the VO cam.
Abstract:
A device for moving a hollow cam relative to a driving shaft includes an intermediate member between a drive member fixed to the driving shaft and a driven member fixe to the hollow cam. A cam ring in the form of an eccentric cam is disposed between the driving shaft and the intermediate member to maintain eccentric rotation of the intermediate member relative to the driving shaft. A driver mechanism controls the angular position of the cam ring.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Eye observation apparatus composed of an illumination optics which is fixed on a frame of a main body and illuminates, a portion of inspection, a photographic optics system for for causing an image ray which is emitted from the portion of inspection to reach an image plane, a photographing means movably equipped in the frame of the main body along with an optical axis and a biasing means for biasing the photographing means so that a tip portion of the photographing means coming into contact with an eye slightly.
Abstract:
An apparatus for use in a variable valve timing and/or valve lift system of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The apparatus is easy to mount, install and adjust within a space available over a cylinder head of the engine. The apparatus comprises a rocker shaft, a first cam, a second cam, and a rocker arm pivotally mounted on the rocker shaft. The rocker arm includes a first cam follower arranged to engage the first cam and a second cam follower arranged to engage the second cam. The second cam follower is pivotally mounted on the rocker arm. A hydraulically operated locking bolt is movable from an unlocking position to a locking position. In the locking position, the locking bolt is received in bores formed in the rocker arm and in the second cam follower to establish a positive motion state wherein the rocker arm moves with said second cam follower as a unit. A mechanism includes a timing lever and restrains the locking bolt against at least moving out of the unlocking position to the locking position.
Abstract:
Developer mixtures comprising finely-divided toner particles electrostatically clinging to the surface of carrier particles. The toner particles comprise a colorant and at least about 60 percent by weight, based on the weight of the toner particles, of a resin mixture comprising between about 40 and about 90 parts by weight of a styrene resin and from about 10 to about 60 parts by weight of an epoxy resin. Electrostatographic imaging processes employing said developer mixtures are also disclosed.
