Abstract:
The present disclosure relates generally to spray systems and, more particularly, to industrial spray coating systems for applying coatings of paint, stain, and the like. Specifically, the disclosed embodiments relate to a spray gun an air cap configured to produce air swirl. For example, in an embodiment, a system is provided that includes a spray coating device. The spray coating device has a liquid passage extending to a liquid outlet configured to output a liquid flow and an air passage extending to a plurality of air outlets configured to output an air flow. The plurality of air outlets is angled to swirl the air flow.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a spray head having a slot-shaped central air outlet opening and preferably a slot-shaped paint nozzle for forming a flat jet of paint in an air-propelled application process.
Abstract:
Removable nozzle tips, spray head assemblies including the nozzle tips and liquid spray guns that include the nozzle tips are described herein. The removable nozzle tips provide and define both the liquid nozzle openings and the center air outlets for the center air of the liquid spray guns and the spray head assemblies. The nozzle tips are removably attached over a liquid nozzle port formed in the spray head assembly and/or on the spray gun platform or body using any suitable attachment mechanism. The removable nozzle tips can be removed from the liquid spray gun or the spray head assembly without disturbing the remainder of the spray gun or the spray head assembly.

Abstract:
An apparatus for use with a paint container includes a nozzle and a housing. The nozzle receives paint from the container. The housing has a handle, an air inlet, and an air flow path configured to direct air from the inlet into the container. A valve body opens and closes the air flow path into the container upon moving back and forth between open and closed positions. The valve body moves between those positions by rotating about an axis without moving along the axis.
Abstract:
A device for applying adhesive having both an adhesive distribution housing comprising a plurality of adhesive discharge nozzles and at least one gas discharge nozzle disposed in the longitudinal axis of the adhesive distribution housing. Fundamental advantages are created by a simple, inexpensively-implemented constructive design for the device, thereby enabling expensive ancillary equipment either to be eliminated or at least significantly reduced in scope. Due to the advantageous manner of application, the invention succeeds in avoiding material wastage, while also achieving to the greatest extent possible a full-coverage, homogenous distribution of the adhesive.
Abstract:
The paint spray gun according to the invention with paint jet deflection comprises a spray gun body with a paint reservoir, a paint dispensing device, an airflow gate with through flow orifices, an air cap with through flow orifices and a first through flow air director or air horn with a first air passage cross section and at least one second through flow air director or air horn with a second air passage cross section, the airflow gate being arranged in front of the air cap in the airflow direction in the region of the paint dispensing device. The invention is characterized in the present case in that the first air passage cross section is designed to be enlarged with respect to at least the second air passage cross section.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a liquid spray gun with several improved features, including (1) a molded polymeric possibly disposable body assembly through which passes liquid sprayed by the spray gun that is manually releasable from a metal platform portion of the spray gun through which air is fed to passageways through the body assembly to spray the liquid; (2) non-cylindrical air passageways on air horns that provide improved shape and uniformity for the wide elongate stream of liquid formed by the spray gun, and (3) an air cap portion of the body assembly mounted for manual rotation on a nozzle portion of the body assembly between positions defined by stops and retained at those positions by friction.
