摘要:
A panel for a truck having an FRP plate including a woven fabric of reinforcing fiber as a main rigid member, a cargo compartment for a truck using the panel and a truck equipped with the cargo compartment for a truck. The panel and the cargo compartment are light, have sufficient rigidity and strength and excellent in processing and fabricating properties.

A sidewall of a trailer is formed from at least two composite panels joined together by a novel joining configuration. Each panel is formed from inner and outer thin metal skins and a plastic core sandwiched between the skins. In several embodiments, at least one of the skins has at least one end coined to as to compress the core between the skins to define a coined end section. A logistics plate and a splicing member are used to join the panels together and are secured thereto by rivets. The logistics plate and/or the splicing member may sit against the coined end sections. The splicing member may have flat top and bottom portions to facilitate in the attachment of the panels to the top and bottom rails of the trailer. In other embodiments, a logistics plate is secured by rivets to the panels for joining them together. The splicing member is eliminated and instead, the outer skin of at least one panel is extended to lie behind the logistics plate. In yet another embodiment, the inner skin may have rolled or formed grooves to provide a smooth transition from a logistics plate having rolled edges. An insert may be used between the skins where the rivets are inserted in any of the embodiments to substantially prevent compression of the panels.

A cargo container wherein at least two walls adjacent to each other are constituted using an integrally formed FRP panel, and a cargo container having a sandwich panel including a core and FRP skins as a main rigidity-maintaining member and wherein at least two walls adjacent to each other are formed integrally. The cargo container according to the present invention is light and has sufficient strength and rigidity as compared with a conventional aluminum-alloy container, and can reduce time and cost required for fabrication and production thereof. Further, the cargo container constituted using the sandwich panel including the core and the FRP skins has excellent freezing, refrigerating, cold insulating and heat insulating performances.

A trailer wall or door is formed from a plurality of first and second composite plate members, each having a novel joint therebetween. Each composite plate member is formed from first and second metal skins having a compressible plastic core sandwiched therebetween. A first overlapping skin member of the first composite plate member overlaps a portion of the second composite plate member. A second overlapping skin member of the second composite plate member overlaps a portion of the first composite plate member. A portion of the second skin of the second composite plate member is stepped and the first overlapping skin member is seated thereagainst. Rivets are provided for joining the plate members together.

A panel for upright positionment on a trailer/truck flatbed to convert theed into a cargo container. The panel is formed as a one piece high density plastic foam or fiberglass reinforced plastic element having desired characteristics of high strength and light weight. At its lower edge the panel has a relatively wide center leg and two relatively narrow end legs dimensioned for snug fit insertion into pockets on the perimeter of the flatbed. Edge areas of the panel are preferably formed as tongue and groove devices to adapt the panel for interlocking connection with similar panels positioned on the flatbed.

A composite commercial walk-in van body is constructed via lightweight, composite structures. A composite floor structure having integral logistic tracks are joined to composite sidewalls that include integral rub rails that also integrally formed logistic tracks on an interior thereof. Pigment molded lower body panels that extend beyond the sidewalls are fully replaceable to enhance durability and maintenance of the walk-in van body. A one-piece molded roof eliminates leaks. Any necessary rivets are captured so as to prevent any wet-to-dry surface penetration. An easily accessible washer fluid and brake fluid reservoir aid in the maintenance and operability of the walk-in van body. Such elements contribute to substantial weight reduction, and increase in durability, functionality, and fuel economy of walk-in vans utilizing such a composite body.

A logistics panel includes a composite panel that is formed of inner and outer skins and a core member secured therebetween. The composite panel has top and bottom end portions and first and second side end portions. The composite panel further has an aperture set provided therethrough which defines at least one aperture which extends through the inner and outer skins and the core member and between the end portions. Multiple logistics panels can be used to form a sidewall of a trailer by joining the first side end portion of one panel to the second side end portion of an adjacent panel. Top and bottom rails are secured to the top and bottom end portions, respectively, of the panels.
