Abstract: Disclosed is an insert configured to cover and provide access to the internal storage compartment of an insulating container, such as a cooler. The insert effectively minimizes thermal exchange between the internal storage compartment and the surrounding environment, while still providing for ready access to items stored in the insulating container. An example insert comprises an insulating panel and a frame configured to support and position the insulating panel over an internal storage compartment of an insulting container. The insulating panel includes one or more self-sealing openings through which items stored within the internal storage compartment of the insulating container can be extracted. Each of the one or more self-sealing openings is configured to stretch for access during use and to contract when not in use.

Abstract: A flexible lid for containers provides a secure and leak-proof seal. The lid includes a top wall and a cylindrical flange forming a valve closure portion. A central plug extends from an underside of the top wall, wherein an annular channel is formed between the plug and the flange. The plug is deformable and can form a tight seal with a bottle when received within the annular channel. The flexible lid includes threads on the inner surface of the side wall for cooperating with the thread on the neck of the bottle, which is rotated to engage the threads and secure the lid to the bottle. The lid can be easily removed by unthreading from the neck and disengaging the plug to unseal the lid. In some embodiments, the plug is separable from the flange and replaced with a nipple that is inserted through an aperture in the top wall.

Abstract: An expandable and collapsible lid system and method thereof. The system includes at least one container including an opening and at least one corresponding lid. The lid may be operable between an expanded state, a middle state and a collapsed state. The lid includes a flange having a circumscribing lip for releasably sealing the opening of the container and concentric segments. Each concentric segment may be flexibly coupled to an adjacent concentric segment, inner-diameter to outer-diameter, a diameter of the concentric segments decreasing inversely with the distance of the concentric segment from the flange, a concentric segment having a largest diameter being flexibly coupled to the flange. When positioned atop the container, the lid increases a storage volume of the at least one container in the expanded state and forms a pool within the container for nesting of a further container when in the collapsed state.

Abstract: A sheet metal lid has a rim portion removably secured and sealed to a container and the lid includes a vent button having a top wall portion surrounded by a side wall portion and an outwardly projecting flange portion. The flange portion of the button has a short arcuate score or shear line extending substantially into the sheet metal, and additional score lines extend into the flange portion at lesser depths to protect a coating on the inner surface of the lid. A resilient sealant material may be bonded to the inner surface of the vent button, and the opposing sheet metal portions of the score line form a small gap for releasing a vacuum or pressure from the container in response to a controlled downward pressure on the top wall portion of the vent button.

Abstract: A container is provided. The container has a lid and a tray. The lid has a contiguous array of walls extending therefrom. The tray has a recess for receiving soft food material. The recess is sized to receive the array of walls of the lid. The tray has a contiguous array of ridges corresponding to the array of walls of the lid. A top surface of the ridges of the tray contact a bottom surface of the walls of the lid when mated to form sealed compartments. A sealing mechanism is provided along a perimeter of at least one of the lid and the tray sealing the lid and the tray along perimeters thereof, and restricting separation of the bottom surface of the walls of the lid from the top surface of the ridges of the tray when mated. At least one of the lid and the tray is formed from a flexible material so that the lid and the tray can be partially separated to remove a food portion formed in one of the compartments without breaking all of the seals of the compartments.
