摘要： A container for merchandise which has at least one transparent panel section in combination with a means for closure which does not obstruct the transparent panel. The closure includes a flange which extends outwardly from the container on each end thereof with gusset panels connected thereto. The gusset panels are unfolded to lie adjacent to the side panels. End closures are provided with positive locking means wherein each of said end closures includes an end panel foldable to a closed position inward of the side marginal edges of an back panel, and being foldable along a first fold line common to an front panel and said end panel; a closure flap having three free edges and reversely foldable over the inner exposed surface of said back panel along a second fold line common to said back panel and said closure flap, each of said top and bottom panels including at least one gusset panel extenting between said top and bottom panels and an end panel, said closure flap being dimensioned such that when it is in its folded position, it physically engages an adjacent member and is thereby locked in place.

摘要： This invention relates to a paperboard container. The feature is the bottom formation which is formed from end flaps that hinge to the sidewalls. Three of the end flaps are interconnected and opposed end flaps are formed with a fold line so that the three interconnected end flaps can be hinged upwardly into an operative position in a flat folded condition. The single end flap is then interleaved with the folded portions of the three interconnected end flaps.

[Also in Division B5] A container comprises a container body and an unarticulated closure member at least one of these being of the laminated sheet material of the parent Specification, the closure member being sealed to the body by the exudation of the thermoplastic adhesive from one or more avenues of exit in edge regions of the sheet material. The container may be a circular tub (Figs. 5-10, not shown, or a single or double compartment tray (Figs. 2-9, not shown), the closure member being a flat sheet of the laminate which may be provided with a transparent window by removal of a portion of the outer plies, or by providing a tearaway portion in the outer ply, the window either being formed by the adhesive layer or by a further inner film layer of glassine, regenerated cellulose, cellulose acetate vinyl, or polystyrene. A multi-container strip may be filled with contents and covered with a strip of the laminated sheet which is then cut into individual closure members with a heated blade which simultaneously effects the sealing of the closure members to the containers.

摘要： A paperboard carton doubles as a shipping container for articles such as beverage cans and a cooler for containing ice to cool the articles when the carton is opened. The top portion of the carton is breached by removing an opening strip defined by zipper rules. Once breached, the tops and side panels of the carton are opened up to form an upwardly open chimney or skirt into which ice can be placed to cool the contents of the carton. Gussets formed in the lower corners of the cartons insure that water from melting ice does not leak prematurely from the carton.
