The container further includes a channel defined in a portion of the body such that the channel is in fluid communication with the internal volume at a first end and sealed by a portion of the body at an oppositely disposed second end. The container further includes a top flange surrounding the top surface of the body and includes a portion that borders the channel, with removal line disposed in the container to define a removable portion. The removal line extends from a first edge to a second edge and through the channel such that the removable portion can be removed from the body along the removal line to expose the channel.

摘要： A tearable foil for closing a package comprises a plurality of layers laminated together, including at least an oxygen barrier layer and a cover layer. A tear line penetrates at least partially through the cover layer to define a tear strip extending from a pull tab to a tail, wherein the pull tab comprises lateral wings that are delaminated with respect to the remainder of the foil, on either side of a central region that is laminated to the remainder of the foil. A user may fold the lateral wings together at right angles to a plane of the foil and grip them to exert a force on the central region and thus commence tearing of the tear strip.

摘要： An ovenable package comprises an ovenable receptacle configured to hold a food product. The receptacle has an open face surrounded by a rim. An ovenable laminated film lid is attached to the rim of the receptacle by a welded seal between a lower face of the laminated film lid and the rim of the receptacle. The laminated film lid comprises a first layer, a second layer above the first layer and a resealable adhesive between the first and second layers. An unopened package is openable by separating the second layer from the first layer in a peripheral region. The opened package can be reclosed to a ventable state by reattaching the second layer to the peripheral region of the first layer by the resealable adhesive. The ventable state permits venting of gas from an interior of the receptacle between the second layer and the peripheral region of the first layer.

The container seal includes at least a base layer, and may further include a polymer layer attached to the base layer at one or more locations. The container seal may further include a pull tab. Pulling the pull tab forms an opening within the base layer. Various seal configurations allow one, two, or more different sized openings from which to dispense a liquid product from the container depending, for example, on the user's preferred method of dispensing the liquid product from the container. In one configuration, a pull tab may form one, two, or three or more openings in the container seal.

The angled back card can provide a wider base of support between the front of the product and the back card to improve the ability of the package to be self-supporting in an upright position, i.e., to stand up reliably on a shelf without leaning on other structures for external support. The package may be generally dumbbell-shaped as viewed from the front and/or from other angles, and may comprise a center portion that is narrower and/or shallower than adjacent end portions. This may facilitate handling of the product by the consumer and also may help to provide the product with an impactful appearance and theme at retail when the product is viewed from the front and/or from other angles. The product may include high-protein food items, consistent with the theme established by the shape, and may include prominently-displayed information about the protein content of the food items.

The package integrity feature, in one form includes at least one strip or frangible structure that is initially affixed to two portions which comprise the resealable closure so that upon opening the resealable closure for a first time, at least one of the strips breaks. The strips may include a weakened portion such as a narrowing. Integrity of the package is indicated by an intact strip viewable upon opening the resealable closure and conversely, a broken or non-intact strip would indicate that the resealable closure has been previously opened. Package integrity may also be shown by a movable second panel or movable die cut tab portions.

The predetermined tearing line (3) may be provided directly in the region of the sealing edge (10).
