Abstract:
In order to check hand luggage and other objects carried by persons, control stations are needed, which have a control unit, in particular an X-ray checking unit, a conveyor which extends through the control unit, a depositing point which is arranged ahead of the conveyor, and a removal point which is arranged behind the conveyor, for the objects and having transport tubs which can be placed onto the conveyor. Small objects and items of clothing are placed in the transport tubs and conveyed through the control unit for checking. A return conveyor for the transport tubs is arranged next to or below the conveyor which passes through the control unit, which return conveyor reaches from the removal point behind the conveyor at least as far as into the region of the depositing point ahead of the conveyor.
Abstract:
A check-in system for receiving and transporting luggage from a passenger, comprising: a conveyor for transporting luggage, the conveyor having a top surface on which luggage is received and which extends from a front end to a rear end; a floor adjacent the front end of the conveyor for supporting a passenger; wherein the top surface of the front end of the conveyor is substantially flush with the floor, such that luggage may be slid from the floor onto the conveyor
Abstract:
A conveyor system is provided having a first pin (18); a first link block (11) carrying the first pin (18); a first offset bushing (17) on the first pin (18); and a second link block (11) carrying the first offset bushing (17), the second link block (11) movable with respect to the first link block (11) upon rotation of the first offset bushing (17) with respect to the second link block (11).
Abstract:
A belt assembly is provided for use as an endless belt traveling relative to a frame structure. The belt assembly comprises a first fabric layer and a second fabric layer having an outer surface that at least partially forms a bottom surface of the belt. A composition comprising polyvinyl chloride is adhered to the inner surface of the first fabric layer. A composition comprising polyurethane is adhered to the inner surface of the second fabric layer. A coating composition comprising polyvinyl chloride is disposed between the inner surfaces of the first fabric layer and the second fabric layer for joining the first fabric layer and the second fabric layer. An at least substantially solid lubricant composition is impregnated in the second fabric layer and at least partially forms the bottom surface of the belt.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for dynamic optimization of the gaps between objects transported serially on a conveyor, in particular the transport of pieces of luggage in luggage transport systems in airports. According to the invention, in order to achieve an optimal usage of the transport system, the separation between two adjacent objects for transporting is recorded by sensor and provided to an analytical unit as measured values for determination of a correction value for temporary alteration of the speed of a transporter supporting only one object, arranged between two adjacent transporters.
Abstract:
A conveying device is provided in systems for safety checking items of luggage or cargo, comprising at least one baggage switch with at least two horizontal conveying means, which are parallelly arranged one above the other at a fixed distance and which can be vertically displaced with the aid of an elevator.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for article conveyance and orientation are provided. The system includes first and second conveyors, which convey articles in a conveying direction. The system also includes first and second sensors, which detect articles conveyed on the first and second conveyors, and which are coupled to a controller. The controller, based on information received from the first and second sensors, controls the first and second conveyors to orient the articles so that the articles have a size in a direction of conveyance which is greater than a size in a direction transverse to the direction of conveyance. The controller also controls the system to prevent another article from being conveyed onto the first and second conveyors when an article is being oriented.
Abstract:
A container transport system for transport of an article, in particular a baggage item, includes a container for receiving an article, with the container made of flame-resistant, wear-resistant and translucent plastic material which is stable in shape. The container has an underside which is formed with touch surfaces extending in a transport direction by which the container is advanced by a conveyor between a receiving end and a discharge end. The conveyor is provided with a guiding and/or driving engagement assembly for cooperation with the touch surfaces of the container.
Abstract:
A baggage screening system and method includes providing a plurality of screening subsystems, each including an automated baggage screen device and a feed conveyor for feeding bags to the screen device. A supply conveyor is provided for supplying bags to the screen subsystems. A sortation network sorts bags downstream of the screen device as a function of the screening of the bags.
Abstract:
A transport system, in particular an airport baggage handling system, includes a container having an underside formed with a grooved recess which defines a leading edge and a trailing edge, as viewed in a transport direction of the container. The transport system has at least one incline conveyor which is constructed to define a convexly curved transport path for transporting the container through engagement of the grooved recess, whereby the incline conveyor supports only the leading and trailing edges of the recess of the container, as the container is moved in the transport direction. This ensures a stable travel of the container along the convexly curved transport path.
