A high performance intermediate servo assembly wherein the servo piston has been modified to provide at least a 17% increase in surface apply area and a corresponding increase in hydraulic pressure delivered to the 2nd gear clutch band which it actuates. The present servo piston is reconfigured to an overall length equivalent to the assembled stack-up dimensions of the original equipment servo piston, accumulator, accumulator spring, and spring retainer components and integrates the critical working surfaces thereof to retain proper function. Such original equipment components have been eliminated to simplify the intermediate servo assembly operation since shift feel is not a concern in this application. O-ring seals on the original equipment servo piston are replaced by high performance seals such as quad-lobed seals to ensure hydraulic integrity under the increased fluid pressure generated. A method of replacing the original equipment components with the present servo assembly is disclosed.

An electro-mechanical brake assembly comprising a brake disk stack having a center axis; and a plurality electro-mechanical actuators for applying braking pressure to the brake disk stack. The actuators are circumferentially arranged around the center axis, and each actuator includes a housing, a linearly movable ram, a screw for linearly moving the ram, a nut mounted for rotation in the housing and operatively engaged with the screw such that rotation of the nut effects linear movement of the screw for urging the ram into forceful engagement with the brake disk stack, an electric motor for rotating the nut, and an anti-rotation device for preventing rotation of the screw relative to the housing when the nut is rotated to effect linear movement of the screw. The foregoing arrangement provides for greater stroke than prior art actuators without sacrificing durability and performance.

A force applied to the brake pad causes engagement between the rotor and the brake pad. A frictional force drives the brake pad along the support to increase the magnitude of braking force beyond the force applied by the actuator. The increase in braking force is proportionally controlled by adjusting the angle.

The invention concerns a safety locking device intended to equip electromechanical equipment provided with a rotating shaft, the device comprising a first friction element connected rotationally to the said shaft, and a second friction element immobile rotationally and extending opposite the first friction element, one of the two friction elements being able to move in translation, under the action of controllable actuation means, between a locking position and a release position. In accordance with the invention, the locking and release positions correspond to successive angular positions of a selector able to move in rotation and connected in translation to the friction element able to move in translation, the said selector being maintained in any one of its angular positions by a resilient member, whilst the actuation means provide solely the passage of the selector from one angular position to the following one, and consequently passage from the locking position to the release position or vice-versa. The invention also concerns an aircraft wheel brake equipped with such a safety locking device.
